The shovel is an ordinary object, a tool, but it is also a symbol for so many things. We work with it, and depend on it's strength. It helps us create new things, and build strong foundations. The shovel provides us with the leverage to break ground, and discover things that we have never seen before or that we thought we long lost. It's a simple machine that gives us the ability to move obstacles we thought were too solid to be broken.

As a symbol it is perfect for this project, and it almost seems as if we planned it, but it was all just by chance.

I think this idea was buried inside of us somewhere, and it was meant to be uncovered. The shovel became a character for us, and it practically told it's own story. I guess it is also representative of the journey on which it is about to embark.
