Emily & Todd, A vintagey, country-ey, thunderstormy outdoor wedding!

Thursday, August 23, 2012 - Weddings
So I'm officially behind with blogging and getting stuff out. But summer is coming to an end, the kids are going back to school on Monday, and I'm looking forward to getting caught up! To start off the marathon (hoping to get 3 or 4 more things blogged tomorrow or Saturday!) - we have Emily and Todd's wedding from July 28th. Their wedding was held at Canna Country Inn B&B in Etters, PA. It looks like just a normal bed and breakfast from the road, but there is a great little hidden forest of magic over the hill and through the woods where the ceremony and portraits took place! These two didn't want a ton of portraits, and wanted their day to unfold more organically, so we had the ceremony, did a few shots and then partied the rest of the day. The reception was made more interesting by a lovely thunderstorm that poured buckets on us (in a tent of course!) for an hour or so. But then, the rain cleared and the sun came out and all was right in the world again!

This wedding had some great details - Todd and Emily are big into music, so each table had a replica concert poster and tickets from concerts that they have attended. The placecards were concert tickets, their signing board was done in a concert poster type style - mix all of that with some great country/vintage decor and you have a kick butt reception! Emily's uncle also played guitar for a good while during the reception, and then the dj took over and dance music kicked the rest of the night into gear.

Oh, and the food! Woooee! Was it good! We worked with an awesome caterer out of Baltimore, Patchwork Catering and boy did Jacki sure know how to cook some tasty goodness! We hope to work with her again in the future. And I can't forget to mention our long lost friend, Sandra Porterfield, who did the flowers. We worked with Sandra years ago at a bunch of weddings, then didn't see her for awhile, and now we have 2 weddings with her this summer. So psyched! I always have thought she has done just beautiful florals, but for whatever reason, most of Lancaster county doesn't take advantage. She is a hidden gem! Get on the ball Lancaster - she is right in your backyard, super nice and does excellent work!

So way to go to Emily and Todd for a most excellent wedding! Cheers!
We have never had a groom where a hat the entire day, but Todd totally pulled it off with style.
My ring shot...
Homemade jam for favors.
Joel's ring shot...(Todd loved this pinball machine.)
The girls bouquets were very victorian feeling.
Oh yes, that is a corn dog she is holding - boy they looked good. :)
Toppings for the salad. mmmm...
Oh, and here comes that pesky storm.
All of the food was SO good.
Double fisting!!
All cleared up, time for some lawn games!
Call me, maybe? (I can not stand this song, but for some reason it has been playing at every wedding lately. My kids listen to it on Radio Disney and drive me nuts with it.)
A super good Michael Jackson impersonation.
Chug, chug, chug!!
No words.
Having a good time!
