Carly & Josh's Wedding at Smithville Mansion in New Jersey

Thursday, October 27, 2011 - Weddings
October 15th, the halfway point of our insane October wedding month. Carly and Josh' wedding was the 4th of the month (4 to go after that) and it was a great halfway point! They were married at Smithville Mansion, Eastampton, NJ. Carly and Josh are fun, creative and easygoing. Carly made a ton of stuff by hand for the wedding - fabric flowers for her hair and bouquets, LEGO boutonnieres for Josh and the groomsmen, and all the decor at the reception. She was a busy gal!

The day was perfect for an outdoor ceremony and tented reception. Smithville has some extensive grounds with great buildings and architecture, we would love to get back there again! After a lovely ceremony that included a very special hand-fasting ceremony, and a jumping the broom (Carly and Josh MADE the broom themselves!) we took advantage of some of that cool architecture for their portraits. What a blast!

The reception was one of the best ever, and I wish every reception was set up with long tables, as it was SO easy to shoot candids and capture lots of great moments. All of the guests were sitting right across from each other, so it was really easy to have a conversation, and thus in turn to capture that. Loved it! We have had long tables before, but I guess I never realized how great it was. Hint hint brides to be! :)
Rad groom and groomsmen :)
Loved Carly's earrings!
LEGO boutonnieres, hello? How awesome??
I loved this part of the property
They were so cute together.
Carly's aunt and uncle make their own Maple Syrup in New York, so here is some as favors for the guests. Sweetness for sure!
Loved this centerpiece.
Carly had a squirrel sweater. Enough said.
