Park fun with Layla, Crystal and John

More Families
Rita

Oh my! I just love this family! Crystal had contacted us several weeks ago to schedule some portraits of Layla, her daughter and her and her husband John - Crystal was just recently married and had wanted to book us for her wedding, but we were otherwise engaged. What a bummer! I am so glad that we were able to work with them for this session, and we will be doing some more portraits for them throughout the year. To start things off, Crystal and John love being outdoors, so we went to the park with the 3 of them. Layla is 3, and let me tell you, she is quite the opinionated 3 year old! She was one of those kids that is best to catch on the fly and just doing natural things that she would normally do - which is great, cause really, that's how we love to capture kids anyway! There is really no sense in forcing a child to sit and smile for the camera when they don't want to. Trust me, having 2 kids of my own, I know! But over the hour, we brought Layla out of her shell and I love the results of what we got. She didn't warm up to Joel as much, so most of the shots below are mine, but I think I really got some perfect little moments of her, and her relationship with Crystal and John. We are really looking forward to photographing them again!

Layla insisted on bringing her stuffed animal along, so John helped her push it in the baby stroller.

Playing hide and seek - no peaking she said! I had to hide my eyes with her.

This was when she realized I wasn't hiding my eyes and was taking photos of her instead - she told me to put the camera down! :)

More hide and seek, she was trying to be quiet this time.
