Tents, Bikes, Tubes..Who needs more?

Still trying to get caught up on blogging. I have like 10 different things to blog yet! Sheesh! It's crazy around here lately - but the good thing is there are a lot of great photos to share! So on Memorial Day weekend, we hiked down to Harper Ferry, WV, and went camping with Joel's brother Mike and his NEW WIFE, Nicole! More about that in the next post. But they recently moved to Frederick, MD, and Harpers Ferry is only about 30 minutes from them, so we thought it would be fun to go there for a couple of days. So we roughed it - tent camping - without air mattresses! - just sleeping bags on the hard ground. Boy were we sore! We road bikes, which lead to an epic accident - Joel's total wipe out - and we went tubing down the Shenandoah River. So much fun! Oh, and of course, we stayed at a KOA campground, and there was a pool - so literally from the second we got there until the second we left, the boys ONLY wanted to go in the pool. Little pests! :) Just kidding, but they did bug us a LOT to go in the pool. It was a nice few days away...

This first shot was pretty cool - Joel and Mike got the campfire going and the smoke rose up into the trees - there was light streaming down in and this was the result. Pretty neat!
Sittin' round the campfire!
Our little silly face maker - Zane crossing his eyes - he does it so well!
The first night we sat around the campfire and told ghost stories - it was the boys idea - and here I am trying to get Zane all scared!
Haydn with Mikey and Nicole, trying to not get too freaked out.
Then we had the good idea to bust out the flashlight - the boys liked that - it made it even spookier.
Rad shot of Mike with the tent illuminated in the background by the lantern.
Muhwahahaha! Haydn looks eerie outside the tent - he looks a little scared too, doesn't he?
I love this shot - I just love everything going on in it.
The tent from afar - pretty nice little photo - I love how it is pitch dark everywhere but the tent and immediately in front of the tent.
Finally...ready to swim!
And....mission accomplished! Jumping together into the pool!
This one is funny. Love all of the expressions.
What goofs.
And more goofs.
These two looooove their new Aunt Nicole! Or Aunt Banana I should say! (Mike is Uncle Monkey.)
We brought our bikes along, and Mike and Nicole decided to rent some from the camp office...and then....
Wiiiippppeee Out! We didn't even get to ride for like 10 minutes - Joel decided to show off, popped a wheelie, and popped a tire, and went flying over the front of his handle bars - yeah, and landing face and left side first into the cement. I was behind him and saw the whole thing happen! I was so scared! In the 10 years that we have been together, Joel has never been seriously injured or in an accident, it was a little scary for me. We took him back to camp and cleaned him up - and Mikey had his hard hat in his truck so he insisted that Joel needed to wear it from now on. :)
Aunt Banana, Uncle Monkey and The Wiebna' boys!
Boy, can you tell we are camping? A little rough looking we be.
And here we all are, tubing down the Shenandoah. This was the only shot we got, and Joel insisted on taking it cause he's got long arms. He gets so worried about getting everyone in the photo, he totally forgets to make a decent face!
And lastly, we found this nice little creepy crawler!
