Katie and John - August 10th
Monday, August 13, 2007 - WeddingsTwo weddings this weekend - two great and wonderful couples! The first of this weekend was on Friday with Katie and John. The weather was absolutely crazy Friday, as we started out with it being one of the hottest days of the summer, with it ending up being one of the coldest nights of the summer! I think over the course of the day, the temperature dropped 30 degrees. It was nearly 90 when we arrived at Katie's parents' house, and a mere 60 when we left the reception. Crazy! Anyway, on to Katie and John. We started out the day with Katie and the girls, and Katie was SOO excited for us to be there. She kept on saying she couldn't wait to be on the blog, and was telling her bridesmaids all about it. We were excited too, as we love it when our couples are so into us being there.
The ceremony was held at St. Maximillian Kobe in West Chester, followed by a stunning reception at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE. The details were great, but this day was focused around Katie, John and their great families and friends. Some of the best reception speeches I have ever heard were given that night, and I don't think there were many dry eyes in the house. John and Katie's dads both gave exceptional speeches, followed by the Best Man and Maid of Honor. The rest of the night was rocked by the Rich Posmontier Band - and everyone danced and danced. One of our favorite things to photograph!
We came away with some great friends and great images, so without further ado, here they are! Oh, and before I forget, we left the Country Club with a new pet, at least temporarily. We were walking out into the parking lot and nearly stepped on - are you ready? - a huge, gigantic, slimy, green - bullfrog! This thing is ENORMOUS, and Joel was like, "Oh the boys would love this!" So we brought him home - we had a small old cooler along that we had some drinks in, so we sacrificed that, put him in it, gave him an air hole, and home he traveled to Lancaster. The crazy thing is, that we didn't get home until 1 AM from the reception, and Joel ended up staying up until 3:30 AM to clean out our old 20 gallon fish tank for the frog! His name is "DuPont" and the boys (particularly Zane the animal/insect lover) has been enjoying him. We aren't sure how long we are going to keep him, but we will post some pics of him soon!
**And ONE more thing - I nearly forgot about until today - Katie went to school with one of our bride's for this coming weekend - and wanted to send well wishes out to her - so Liz, this is from Katie - Good Luck!
Katie's reflection caught as she was getting her veil put in, which was totally gorgeous, and was actually the veil her mom wore for her wedding.
