Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. September 5th was a perfectly wonderful, light and lively, sunny and happy wedding day for Christina and Willem! We were so psyched for this wedding! We had heard about all of the little details for the day and we couldn't wait to get our cameras firing and our mojo flowing. Believe it or not, but this wedding was our first in Lancaster for the year (we are traveling so much this year for weddings! We have Jersey, New York and Delaware weddings coming up.) And it wasn't just a Lancaster wedding - it was a Lancaster CITY wedding. All of Christina and Will's vendors and venues were in our gorgeous city! Here's a peak at who was all involved:
And of course us! We also went to several locations around the city for portraits after the ceremony, but I am getting ahead of myself...
Christina and Will are from Vancouver, Canada, and have only been living in Lancaster for a little over a year. They both work at the same company and were transferred here last summer. With being so new in Lancaster, why choose it for your wedding day? We asked them this, and they said they loved the city and wanted to remember their time here. All of the great buildings, restaurants, history, their home - they wanted to capture it in their wedding day. We very willingly obliged, and planned out the perfect map of locations for the day...
I started with Christina at their home, while Joel met up with Will at the Lancaster Arts Hotel. Christina and Will's home is absolutely gorgeous, and from the outside, you would never guess at what lies inside. Their design and decorating sense is impeccable, and it looked like something out of a luxury hotel. Christina and Will had a very small guest list, only around 50 of their very closest friends and family. At the house, Christina had her Matron of Honor, and her mom helping her into her stunning gown and Stuart Weitzman's.
While I was occupied with all of the great details at the house, Joel was tossing around the football with Will and his best man at the hotel. Time always flies, and it was soon ceremony time at the church. This was the first time we were shooting in our own church, and it was very different being in such familiar territory. The ceremony was a mixture of Catholic and Filipino traditions and was very intimate in the cavernous church. As the ceremony came to an end, and Christina and Will greeted their guests outside, the tears really started to flow. That is what I really love about smaller weddings. Christina is very close to her brother, and when he came out, they both started crying and it was so emotional I was choking back tears behind the camera.
Once the hugs and tears were finished, we headed to our first stop on the city tour, which was Franklin & Marshall College. We grabbed a few quick family photos and then had some fun! Will and his best man ran track together in college, so we headed to the track and ran some races. :) We also couldn't resist using our favorite bleachers. Stop 2 on the tour was at Christina and Will's house, where we had tons of options to work with! There wasn't a lack of great spots in their house, and we even got to use an egg chair in the backyard and their fabulous chandelier in the dining room.
Christina and her matron of honor love chatting over coffee, so our third stop was at one of our favorite coffee shops, Chestnut Hill Cafe. The girls chatted away over some lattes, while the guys hung outside. It was such a gorgeous day! Our final stop was at one of our favorite places to shoot, downtown at Lancaster Central Market. We just love the colors and textures that surround market, and we always find new photos and places to shoot when we go there. I have to admit, Joel shot one of the most KILLER wedding party shots ever! while we were there. :)
So our tour ended at the reception venue, John J Jeffries at the Arts Hotel, and the party was ready to start! The room was amazing, and a very special coordinator did an unreal job at setting the whole place up. The evening opened up with Will singing a song (and playing keyboard) for Christina, and I don't think there were many dry eyes to be found. The evening continued with a wonderful spread of food, some special speeches from Will and Christina's parents, and our time ended with the Filipino Money Dance.

Even though John J Jeffries is only like 2 blocks from our house, we still had not gotten a chance to eat there before this wedding. The food was sooo yummalicious, and the best part - well, here is an excerpt from their site that explains it all,
"One trip to our restaurant and you’ll see that we have designed our menu on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture. We invite you to join us and taste the difference of local “farm to table” sustainable cuisine."

Alison and Brian's Country Club Wedding in Jersey Monday, September 28, 2009
August 29th we headed to Jersey for a lovely country club wedding. Alison and Brian had booked us through email earlier this year, and we were excited to finally get to meet them! Not to mention their beautiful little girl Evie. She was adorable! Alison invited us to her parent's house to start out the gorgeous day (the weather couldn't have been better) - and we grabbed some fun getting ready shots. The ceremony and reception were both at the Tavistock Country Club, and we quickly headed over there to meet up with Brian and the guys so we could get a bunch of photos finished before the ceremony was to start.
Alison arrived in a limo, and Brian greeted her at the car when she arrived. The smiles on their faces were contagious and quickly spread throughout the crowd gathered just inside the doors. This day was off to a great start! We rounded up the rest of the wedding party and headed to the rear of the country club. We were able to find a few out of the way spots, and had some fun!
The ceremony was pretty short and sweet, but had some tears and giggles in it. (Especially when Brian's best man tried to hand him a flask instead of the rings during the ceremony!) As the receiving line finished up, a huge thunderstorm rolled in, with some wicked looking clouds. There was also an airport nearby and it was really creepy seeing the planes fly through the ferocious looking clouds as they landed. Made for some really dramatic photos though during cocktail hour!
The reception was a total blast, as everyone hit the dance floor at full speed and didn't stop all night. A full dance floor is always our kind of reception! We loved working with Ali, Brian and their friends and families - I think you can tell by the photos below!
I loved this spot for the dress, so I put it there, and snapped away.

So yeah, Joel has an obsession with ties. Don't know if you know it, but he has caught guests playing with ties at like 5 or 6 weddings in the last 2 years. It's an obsession for him. :)

Laura and Kristin and their family at the beach! Monday, September 28, 2009
Ok, we are WAY behind on blogging! Determined to get caught up this week!
We met up with Kristin and Laura last month down in Cape May - we had photographed these two sisters last year for Christmas, and when they saw we were having beach sessions they wanted to do something with the whole family. (It just so happened they were staying in Delaware for vacation the weekend we were doing beach shoots, so they hopped the ferry and came over to Cape May.) It was a hot day, and everyone was glad for the cool water at the beach! The sand was SUPER hot, and everyone was dancing around trying to keep their feet cooled off. Hey Everyone! Last Wednesday we photographed our October Teeny Weeny Wiebs, and Blue Ridge Cable came out and interviewed us about the concept, and how we hold a fundraiser each First Friday. This Friday, October 2nd, is our unveiling of the October TWWs - Pumpkin Shoot - and if you come out on Friday, make sure to vote for your favorite photo with some cash! All of the money we will collect on Friday will go to the local organization, Kids and Cultures. Hope to see you on Friday!
