Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
A few weeks back we met up with Jen and Dave to photograph their engagement session - out at Greenfield Industrial Park. These two are getting married in October at the Yorktowne Hotel, which is in downtown York. Since they knew they would have more urban shots from the wedding, they wanted to have their engagement session at a park. We went to an area of the park that we haven't been to before, so we found a lot of great spots. Joel also had an infrared camera along, and played with that a whole bunch. Most of the black and white shots below were taken with that camera. Our good friend, Wes, at Perfect Image Camera Repair here in Lancaster, let us borrow it to try it out. :) We had fun with it.
Luckily we started this session earlier in the day, cause it was HOT! Jen and Dave were hot too, and we got some fun shots mixed in with some steamy romantic shots. Take a look. :)
This first one was with the infrared - we had a lot of great sun and shade spots to work with, which works really well with this type of camera.

Kristina and Jamie - The fabulous St. Michael's MD Wedding! Thursday, July 23, 2009
Woot - Kristina and Jamie rocked! Kristina works with one of our past brides, Heather, and we were so thrilled when she contacted us last year to photograph her big day on June 27th. Best of all, we got to travel to the quaint little area of St. Michael's, Maryland. The majority of the wedding festivities were held at The Oaks Waterfront Inn, in Royal Oaks, MD, which is just outside St. Michael's. What a gorgeous location! There were photo opportunities galore, and we just couldn't have had a better time on this wedding day. Kristina was just hilarious, and a total ham! She was hamming it up big time for the camera ;)
We had such a good time that this is an extremely large blog post - 62 delectable photos for you to drool over! I have a lot of talking to do, but I am going to do it throughout the post with each photo.
woooooo!!!!
First shot here is of The Oaks. The day was just beautiful - blue skies everywhere!

The guys started getting ready before the girls and looks like they were having some boutonniere problems. :)

Kristina had this "borrowed and blue" pin inside her dress - the piece of candy was from her great aunt (if I remember correctly!) - she had it with her when she came to America. (Kristina's family is Armenian.)

And not one cake...

...but two! The groom's cake here was made by the famous Charm City Cakes, (uh yeah - Ace of Cakes!) - Kristina and Jamie had a thing for monkeys and jazz - so they had a record player with a monkey bride and groom on it.

Troy and Melanie - High school memories Sunday, July 19, 2009
A few weeks back we photographed Troy and Melanie. Troy is a photographer in Texas, but both him and Melanie grew up in Lancaster. While they were home for a summer vacation visiting family, they wanted to get some couple photos taken. We were happy to oblige! Melanie is also 7 months pregnant with their first child (yay!) so they wanted to document this special time for them. And of course, what better place to go than the high school where it all started? They both went to McCaskey High here in Lancaster, so we took advantage of the warm summer weather and no students on the grounds, to play around at the school. We found some cool places to play and ended up in the football stadium. An empty stadium is a lot of fun to play with :)
Out on the front steps of the school was some of the only shade we found that morning.

Wedding Image in Milestone Inn Ad Thursday, July 16, 2009
Just wanted to share this cool ad that our friends Robin and Sean at the fabulous Milestone Inn sent us! They used one of the images we shot there last year at Angie and Ryan's Wedding in September - for their recent ad in Harrisburg Magazine. We really loved the design of the ad - so clean and simple! Big thanks to Robin for using our image in this gorgeous ad! And brides and grooms (or anyone else having an event of some kind) - if you are planning for the Harrisburg area, this is definitely one of the best venues there. (Its our personal favorite!)
