Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!
Are you ready to advance your business? Education in our industry is important to us. The more photographers that are aware in the industry the better it is for everyone. I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Wow, we have had a busy week! Wednesday we headed to Northern Liberties in Philly to grab some engagement pix of Matt and Megan. Megan is good friends with one of our grooms, and her and Matt were even guests at the wedding earlier this year. They are a fun lovin' couple - and boy was it an unusual and fun shoot! First of all, they ordered up some really rough weather - 95 degrees, a ton of humidity - can anybody say sweat? We were all drenched by the end of the 2 hour shoot. But that isn't even the good part. Matt picked Northern Liberties because he works in the area - it is a fairly run-down section of Philly, but recently restaurants and businesses have started moving in and renovating. Matt knew there were some cool old warehouses, and he knew what we could do in warehouses, so he wanted to check some of them out. We were able to get into one that used to be an old brewery. Graffiti and awesome textures littered the landscape. We spent nearly an hour exploring the place, then headed back to the street to grab some more shots at one of their favorite restaurants in the area. We had SUCH an awesome and creatively fun time! We are lucky to have such great clients who appreciate what we do and just let us run with our ideas! Thanks guys for being so cooperative!!

The Trout Family - June 24th Wednesday, June 27, 2007
Our last session on Sunday was with the Trout family. They had won a gift certificate we had donated to a silent auction last year - after a few reschedules we finally got out to meet them! I think we may have scared them a little with our craziness - but we put a great "Wiebner" spin on it and got some cool photos!
These kids were so cute and ready to ham it up for the camera!

Being silly - notice the dog in the back - yeah, that's Diamond - a HUGE Great Dane. She was so big, her head came right to my chest - and, she liked to drool!! Luckily it was the last shoot of the day, because I was playing around with her and I was covered in doggy slobber! Joel couldn't stop laughing at me, I had it all over my shirt!

Sandra and Matt - Engagement - June 24th Wednesday, June 27, 2007
Our second session on Sunday was with another one of our super-fun couples, Sandy and Matt. We met them at Lancaster Central Park, which is a local park here in Lancaster. We have frequented this often throughout the years, so we wanted to try some new locations. Mixing it up! Well, before I have said that some of our couples are up for anything, but truly, Sandra and Matt are totally spontaneous. I think if I would have asked them to fly to the moon, they would have! When Sandra first started emailing me about their wedding next year, she mentioned how she saw some images of our boys on the blog at Chuck E Cheese. She said how she and Matt - LOVE - Chuck E Cheese! So much so, that when we started talking about their engagement session she said she was thinking of doing it at Chuck E Cheese - which would have been super fun, but they changed their minds, which is cool too, and decided on the park because they love to be outdoors. So anyway, check out some of the fun below....

Brooke and Nick - Engagement June 24th Wednesday, June 27, 2007
Sunday we had several FUN shoots, so stay tuned for the rest - but to start off, we met up with Nick and Brooke in Media, PA, their hometown. They are getting married next fall, and are one of the most fun couples ever! I just have to post a little something here that Nick wrote to us today - Nick I hope you don't mind, but I just wanted to share with everyone how excited people can get to see their photos on the blog! We told Nick and Brooke we would probably have their images up by Tuesday - we ended up being called out of the office all day, and didn't get them up. When I returned to the office to check email at the end of the day, this was waiting from Nick,
"Rita and Joel,
Brooke and I might possibly be having the most unproductive days at work possible. We keep looking at your blog every 5 minutes to see if our engagement photos are up yet. I didn't think I would get this excited, but I was wrong. "
You guys are the best! Sorry to keep you in suspense! Without further ado, here they are. We had a blast on Sunday exploring with you guys!

Uh yeah, what the heck? I HAD to post this - we were on a playground at an elementary school, and what does Joel stick his big size 15 feet in? A huge wad of gum! Ewwwww!
It's sometimes hard to predict how things will work out when someone hires you long distance - will you get along, will the personalities mesh, etc. There were no worries here with these two, we hit it off as soon as we met and were like old friends. Sandy and Geoff were married here in PA, but had hired us via phone/email last year. We finally got to meet this week, just a few days before the wedding. They are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Geoff loves photography, so he was really psyched about some of the ideas we talked about at the meeting. Sandy was all ready to dress up and get some awesome shots as well. They told us whatever we wanted to do was fine with them - music to our ears! Afterwards Sandy even told us that other than marrying Geoff and being so happy, her portrait time on Saturday was the highlight of her day. She had a blast! But I am getting ahead of myself...
I have to first relate the story of what happened at our meeting with these two on Wednesday evening. We arrived at the location of ceremony/reception - which was a private farm that Geoff's relatives owned, and we all sat down on the porch. There were 2 gorgeously huge black Schnauzers, named Bear and Kendall. Joel is a HUGE dog person, and he immediately started loving them up with pets and rubs. They then wouldn't leave his side during the whole meeting! The best part though, was after we sat down we heard someone calling for the dogs - it sounded like a man, so Joel looked around everywhere and didn't see anyone. (I was busy asking Sandy questions about the wedding, so I wasn't as involved in this whole exchange.) Anyway, it happened again, and Joel was like, "Is someone calling the dogs?" And Geoff and Sandy busted up and told us no, turn around it's the parrot!! There in a cage sitting right behind Joel was a gorgeous African Gray parrot - who could speak up to 2000 words!! He had the names of the dogs down perfectly and apparently drives them crazy by calling them all the time - so he was like "Beeearrr! Kendalll!" And would whistle at them and even growl!! It was sooo hilarious! Of course now, Joel thinks he needs to get a parrot, so I just had to relate this story. The parrot and both dogs made appearances at the wedding on Saturday.
Ok, enough back story, let's get to the good stuff! It was a perfect day on Saturday - absolutely perfect! The weather was gorgeous and not too hot for an outdoor wedding, and no rain in sight. The ceremony was held in a large grassy area at the bottom of the hill next to the farmhouse and then the reception followed in a tent behind that area. We had free reign over the entire place to do what we wanted, and we took full advantage! So take a look below!
Sandy and Geoff we had such a fabulous time with you both - there were tears, joy and much laughter! Congratulations and best of luck in your new home!

The beautiful Sandy! This is one of my favorite shots from the day. This was done in an old wooden "lean to" - Sandy went and plopped herself down in it and said, "Tell me what to do!"

I love this shot of Geoff too! Sandy had told him to make sure to not smile "Goofy" so we were all laughing about how he should smile! This was one of the in between expressions I caught and I love it!

The flower girl flew all the way from Israel BY HERSELF (she was only 9 I think! and had already done this a couple other times - flying alone that is!) - she had to help the little 2 year old ring bearer down the aisle...

Utter joy and delight during the ceremony, it was one of the most beautiful we have seen yet.

Another shot I love! (I have a lot of favorites from this day, don't I?) Sandy and her girls after the ceremony - just a simple, happy portrait.

Joel grabbed this of the bridesmaids walking down the hill - love it! We were starting to get into "juicy light" time as we started portraits after the ceremony.

Sandy told us that she has taken ballroom dancing for years, and she sure cut up the dance floor! Here we are getting down doing the twist with Geoff's dad!

Ah! and the last shot of the night - after they lit the bonfire, we headed out to the back of the property to do one last fun shot - there were a bunch of old cars parked out on the hill, so it looked like a little car graveyard. It made for a perfect backdrop! And for those photographers out there that know about light painting, we had to use some alternate methods with this one! We had forgotten the ultimate light painting device, the deer spotting light, at home - but we knew we wanted to do this shot. So we actually used our 580s to pull this off! We were quite happy with the results!
