Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
I was asked to do a few more portraits for the Central PA AIGA website. We had a lot of fun shooting these images. You may remember the last AIGA shoot that we did on a cold day back in January. Hope you enjoy.

Kylene and Matt - May 27th Wednesday, May 30, 2007
It's a party! Kylene and Matt's day is finally here! Sorry I had to do a little dance (I know you can't see me, but I AM dancing!) - cause we have known Kylene and Matt forever! We are so happy their day is finally here. Before I went full time with the photo business, I used to work at a magazine - I was there for 4 years, Joel had been there for 6 before he left last year. Anyway, Matt and Kylene both work there - Matt actually started there the same day I did - oh sheesh, that was 7 years ago! Matt actually attended our own wedding, and now his is here! Yay! Well now, I have really gotten way off track - so let me tell you a bit about their wedding day...
We started out at Kylene and Matt's house, where we got some shots of the girls getting their hair done - poor Kylene, I felt so bad for her, as she had been sick the entire day before the wedding and she still wasn't feeling too well that morning. What could be worse than being sick on your wedding day? She perked up later on, but she still looked a little green that morning at the house. We all talked and laughed, took some photos - and then headed over to Riverdale Manor where their entire day was spent at. This was our first time at Riverdale, it is a newer location in Lancaster that is right on the Conestoga River. it is a gorgeous place, and we are looking forward to the other weddings we have there this year.
So the day went by so fast we didn't even realize it! We bounced all over the property and did some really cool portraits in several different locations - captured some great ceremony and reception moments, and ended the evening a bit early - those darn thunderstorms! Kylene and Matt were planning to leave around 9 PM, but due to the impending storm they had to bump it up by about 45 minutes - they were no sooner in the car after the sparklers than it started to pour! Timing couldn't have been better, we raced to the car and home we went! The 3rd and final wedding of the weekend was complete! Now off to relax - for 1 day at least!

Kylene's adorable kitty, Iris, was a ham for the camera - she loved Joel!

Matt's best man, Herb is a character - here one of his friends ripped out the word, "Herbed" from the menu and held it up to Herb!
On the 2nd day of our long hot weekend, we started out in New London at Stacey's parent's house. Stacey's brother is an architect, and he designed the home himself! Stacey is so proud of it (and him) that she wanted to have a lot of photos done there at the house - and no wonder! It was gorgeous! It is also nestled in a beautifuilly landscaped area, with plants, ferns, trees - all over. After the girls were finished getting ready, Mike and the guys showed up to start photos. The two of them had their "first glimpse" on the front porch of the house - with the entire wedding party and family watching them through the living room windows! It was so emotional - Stacey cried and they hugged, kissed and were immediately ready to start their portrait time! Stacey is an artist and art teacher, so she wanted a lot of creative shots throughout the day - we could certainly oblige.
The ceremony was held at New London Presbyterian, a quaint little church hidden away in the country, with a beautiful simpleness to it. After the ceremony, Stacey and Mike were whisked away in a really cool old-fashioned car. It was in pristine condition! One of the best parts of the day is yet to come, as we arrived at Twin Brook Winery in Gap, PA for the reception - it is a winery (obviously) which has 2 HUGE greenhouses that they have converted into a reception facility! A really unique location, however quite hot! The light inside was some of the best ever, and is certainly a photogenic location. But I am getting off track, when we arrived there, Stacey and Mike wanted to do a few more photos with the car, and then Stacey said, "Well, we would like to go down in the creek and take some shots too." Music to our ears! We love it when our couples are willing to do something out of the ordinary. So Stacey, Mike and I all took off our shoes and got our feet wet! Joel stayed up on the bank and got some shots from there, but I just had to get down in the water and be on the same level as Stacey and Mike. It was soo much fun!
- A ring shot below here from Joel - Stacey's parents had a lot of really neat little things throughout their house, this was an old typewriter they had sitting on a desk in the hallway, and of course and old magnifying glass next to it. If you can't tell what is going on in this photo, Joel shot the rings on the typewriter through the magnifying glass - sweet image!

Stacey's dad and her parents dog, Zuzu (don't know if that is spelled right!) - that poor little dog was so scared of us she would turn tail and run every time we came near her!

Wow! It was H-O-T this weekend! Our long weekend (3 weddings!) - started on Friday - with nearly 90 degree heat! That heat continued on throughout the weekend, but I think Friday was the worst because of the humidity. You couldn't breathe! The pollen from all of the trees and flowers was ridiculous also - I don't think I have ever sneezed as much as I have in the last 4 days!
So enough about me, I know ya'll want to see some wedding photos - so let me tell you a little bit about Jerusha and Ben's wedding in Elizabethtown on Friday. We were there early - 9 AM and photographed all of the girls getting ready - then, we headed over to Founder's Hall at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey to do all of their portraits. Jerusha and Ben decided to see each other before the ceremony, so underneath some beautiful shade trees, they had their first glimpse. We ran around and did a bunch of portraits of Jerusha and Ben, and then their wedding parties. Everyone was DYING from the heat, so we all headed back to the church to cool off before the ceremony. Jerusha and Ben were such a cool couple, they even told us to go relax for awhile since we had some extra time before the ceremony. So we cooled off and sat in the back of the church for a bit before we started capturing the guests arriving!
After the ceremony, we took off to Elizabethtown College for the reception which was held in the ballroom at the college. The food and details were perfect, and the evening was ended with a great sparkler exit!
I love this shot I grabbed of Jerusha's shoes - the shadows, the floor textures - all of it just went together so well!

Jerusha and the girls got dressed in the church basement, and there just so happened to be these cool old shower stalls (the church just uses them to store things in currently) - so I asked Jerusha if she would mind doing some shots in there - she was totally game, which I love - and I was able to do some cool portraits...

These two were SOOO cute! Kirsten is 4 and Jake is 5 - they are cousins and Kirsten has the BIGGEST crush on Jake! (So her mom tells me anyway!) - We got them to give each other a hug while we were getting the wedding party ready in the background...sooo adorable!

This couple has been married 65 years! Can you believe it? These are Ben's grandparents and they were just so fun to watch throughout the day.

Awesome cake! Of course Joel being the sci-fi/fantasy junkie he is, thought that the swirls on the cake look like the symbol from the TV series, Heroes - he mentioned this to Ben, and it turns out him and Jerusha love the show!

How funny is it that we haven't done any couples sessions in weeks, and then today, we have two? Well, that's really not that funny, but the shots below are!! We found this cool circular gate while doing Teri and Shane's session in the morning. So I wanted to throw something fun in, so I had them do the shot below. Then, this afternoon while on Cindy and Bob's shoot, I saw the EXACT same type of gate/fence (totally different town by the way) - so I HAD to get them to do something fun too! So here are the two shots, I just had to post them together!
