Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
You may remember when we did Maureen and Tommy's engagement session back in November - it was part of our marathon session weekend - well their wedding day is finally here and we couldn't be more excited! Maureen had beautiful details - to die for flowers, a huge cake, and even milk and cookies for her guests at the end of the night.
The Catholic ceremony was held at the Chapel at Mount St. Mary's University, where Tommy's priest (and hockey coach!) gave a very emotional homily filled with personal thoughts from both Maureen and Tommy. It was one of the nicest ceremonies I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot! Afterwards, the rain held off for us to run all over the Links at Gettysburg, which is where their reception was at, for a bunch of photos. It was quite the coincidence, as the last time we were at The Links for a wedding - was 3 years ago on this same weekend!
At the end of the night, we even stole the two of them away for a special light painting parting shot - take a peek below!

Maureen's mom gave her this rosary in the limo on the way to the church - it had been her grandmother's - it looks beautiful next to Maureen's flowers.

Walking down the aisle, I love Maureen's expression! She had the biggest smile on the entire way down the aisle.

Funny story behind this - Joel asked Tommy and Maureen to kiss for this shot, but Tommy didn't realize where Joel was at, and he saw him out of the corner of his eye just as he kissed Maureen.

Just for Maureen! They had rock candy on the coffee table, and I just LOVE rock candy, so I thought it would be a great accompaniment to their rings - besides, one of Maureen's colors was pink!

This is actually the dad of our New Year's Eve bride for this year, Megan - she is good friends with Tommy and her, Matt (her fiance) and her parents were at the wedding. Anyway, Megan's dad really liked the cake!

And at last, a special last shot - Maureen is an architect, so she is always around construction equipment - there was some across the road at The Links, so we headed over there and got a cool last shot! Thanks for giving us free reign on this one - hope you enjoy it!

Special on Summer Beach Sessions! Thursday, April 26, 2007
Have you always dreamed of doing a portrait or engagement session on the beach? Well if so, we have several dates this summer we will be doing sessions at the beach!
The dates are here:
July 9th - Cape May, NJ
August 8th - Avalon, NJ
We are also willing to add dates to those weeks if we receive a lot of interest. So email us and schedule your session today! I am sure our availability for these dates won't last long.
If you have no idea what I am talking about then go there, and read the about page. It's a fun project that we have organized for other wedding photographers around the world. It should get pretty interesting very soon.
Sunday we had the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous weather with our boys on a much needed day off. We wanted to do something outside, and had debated about going to the Philadelphia Zoo, but then decided we didn't want to drive so far, and ended up going to Indian Echo Caverns. I think I was there as a child, but I don't remember. Joel and the boys had definitely never been there, so they were excited. The boys were pumped up to look for "gems" and "jewels" and "ghosts" in the cave - they get some crazy ideas (too much Scooby Doo!)
Check out some of the photos, we had a great time exploring. Oh, and another big exciting milestone for Haydn - he was given his own camera for the day (just a small point and shoot) - and he shared it with Zane. Haydn took most of the photos, and he did a great job! We are so proud. For a 5 year old, he has a pretty good eye! Linked here is Haydn's very first slideshow, of his images that he took on Sunday - you will here Joel and Haydn talking during the slideshow - Haydn is giving some commentary on what he was thinking and/or why he took the photo. It is too cute to miss!
If you read our blog you know we have a fondness for signs with part of the word missing - Joel liked this one - he thought it sounded like someone was yelling at Dan to keep off the wall. Who's Dan?

Zane was going down this old metal slide backwards, and it was so bright and sunny - the sun was reflecting off of the sliding board and blinding him - Joel grabbed this shot at the perfect moment - Zaney is so funny!

Oh yeah, he was pointing out the bat on the wall. If you can see that little brown speck, that is a bat sleeping. They were very small bats, if I were to hold one it would fit in my hand.

This is where a glacier dumped a bunch of mud/sediment/rock, and closed up one area of the cave. They believe on the other side of this wall there are football field sized rooms, but the cost to open it up would be pretty high, so they are leaving it as is. That would be so cool to get in there and explore!

At the end of the tour - that's all of us leaving that were in the group and our tour guide finishing up his tour.
It was a LOT of fun! The tour last about an hour, and the kids enjoyed it. Definitely a worthwhile trip!
Well the weather could not have been any more gorgeous on Saturday! 75 degrees, sunny, a little breeze - who could ask for more? Amy and Chad were sure thankful as they both love the outdoors, and were ecstatic that we could get some photos for them outside in the beautiful weather. But I am getting ahead of myself. We started the day out on Saturday in Camp Hill at Amy's salon; we grabbed a few shots of her and her mom at the salon then ran over to her parents' house to grab some detail shots Amy wanted of her old room. After that it was off to Amy and Chad's house to see what the men were up to, and while there, I caught that ring shot you see below. Chad was nervously awaiting game time, and was playing with his nieces and nephews to try and keep himself calm. I think seeing us made him feel better, because he was all smiles while we were there.
After spending a little bit with Chad, we raced down to the church in Elizabethtown to get some pre-ceremony festivities. The ceremony was beautiful, and with Amy being an only child, her mom and dad were pretty emotional. Lots of tears flowed all around, as well as hugs, and there were plenty of opportunities to grab some great emotion.
We then did a few quick shots at Elizabethtown College and then the Red Rose Trolley whisked them away to Acorn Farms where we all talked, ate and danced the night away - (thanks to our good friend Matt from Occasions DJs!) (Well Joel and I didn't dance, but you know what I mean!)
I just wanted to give a huge thanks to Amy and Chad's families for making us feel so welcomed, it really made our day go by so fast!
