Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!
Are you ready to advance your business? Education in our industry is important to us. The more photographers that are aware in the industry the better it is for everyone. Won't you join us in making our goals a reality? We participate in various workshops, seminars and speaking engagements. Listed below are various engagements - some are our own workshops, others we will be hosting or speaking at. If you wish to participate, please drop us a line or click the link to find out more info!
I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
March 7th was the first big wedding of the year, as we headed down to Philly for a very late day wedding with Christina and Brad! We were chomping at the bit to get shooting, as we have only had a few portrait and engagement sessions during the first couple months of 2009. We were ready to sink our teeth into a wedding! The entire wedding party was so great to work with, and we seriously could have blogged 60+ images, but decided to cut it down to about 30. The entire evening was spent at the College of Physicians, which was a really amazing setting for this wedding! We had some fun with the whole gang prior to the ceremony (Christina and Brad saw each other beforehand) and then a Jewish ceremony was followed by dinner and dancing. The horah was one of the best we have seen - like ever! We totally just enjoyed getting back into the groove and feeding off the energy of Christina, Brad and their guests at this rockin party!
While I was in with the girls doing some getting ready, Joel grabbed the guys and headed out into the dusky street for some portraits.

The nervous first glimpse - we had just enough light to do this outside, which was really cool!

Christina gets bustled, while Brad patiently waits so we can take just a few more photos of the two of them.

So, this shot is particularly funny to me, cause Joel has a thing for ties. He has actually captured almost this exact same shot at 3 weddings so far. Always a bunch of people looking at a tie, or pointing to it, or doing something with it! Ties are just funny!

Speeches were a trip, and maybe a little embarrassing. This was during Brad's brother's speech.

Snow, Drizzle, Clouds and Sun! Erica and Tom had it all. Wednesday, March 11, 2009
Erica and Tom are getting married in May - and we have been trying to get this engagement session going for months! First our schedules weren't meshing, then when we did have something scheduled for back in January we had to cancel it! Their session was scheduled for the Sunday morning that Angus, our older puppy, totally went lame in both legs, and we had to rush him to the pet ER. He is better now, and we rescheduled Erica and Tom's session for the end of February.
So of course, the day of the session - it starts to snow! It was snowing pretty good, and luckily when they arrived for the session it had almost stopped. But we had a light mix of snow and drizzle as we started the shoot! It didn't deter us and we kept forging ahead and by the end of the session the sun was out and shining! What a morning.
Erica had the biggest green eyes ever, they were so cool and fun to capture. We totally tried not to get Erica's pretty white coat filthy (it was a challenge for us, but we succeeded!) - we had her sitting down and against some dirty buildings, but she came out of it just fine! Tom was sportin' some cool kicks, and we just had to get those in a shot or two.
With the weather being what it was, we zipped around alleys pretty quick, and still had a blast - as always! Looking forward to this wedding in a few months!

Brad & Christina walkin' around downtown Monday, March 9, 2009
I feel so bad for our recent engagement couples. It's been COLD. Well, not so much this week, but pretty much all winter so far. Christina and Brad were in town a few weeks back to take a walk with us, and it turned out to be one of those cold, windy days.
We walked a few blocks around Lancaster trying to avoid the wind as much as we could. They say Queen St. is the coldest, windiest street in town, and I'm not arguing. Walking up Queen St. we found a few storefronts to duck into to escape the weather. It just so happens that we have shop windows on the brain lately, but that's for another exciting blog post (we're trying to keep a secret about some awesome Wiebner news :) ).
Anyway, Brad and Christina fit right in walking around our little city, and as you know we are always willing tour guides. Our stroll with them was a hoot, and I hope you agree. Take a look and let me know what you think.

What a cool green wall! I can't believe we've never seen this before. This shot makes me think of a watercolor painting, so cool.

Lindsey and Brad and the cccooooolldd day! Friday, March 6, 2009
Back at the end of January we FINALLY were able to hook up with Lindsey and Brad to photograph their engagement session. We have known Lindsey for quite some time - she runs all of the events for Hamilton Events and we have done receptions at the Hamilton Ballroom for a few years now. Lindsey is always so fun and nice to talk to! When she first contacted us about getting engaged to Brad, she was super excited because she finally had a good reason to get photographed by us! She is so sweet!
After a few cancellations due the pesky winter weather, we were finally able to get together with Lindsey and Brad to have some fun. It was still terribly cold out, but they were troopers and braved the icy winds and even a near disaster in a creek! Lindsey knew of a great place to have their session at, Historic Pool Forge, which is up above Ephrata. We certainly had the place all to ourselves on that day.
Some warming up was done, and then we got a little braver with their shoot. There was a creek on the property, and it had a tiny little island in it. Joel thought it would be cool to get some shots of them OUT on the island. So he asked Brad and Lindsey to jump over to the island, sure no problem! Actually they both did it without complaining and we did get some pretty darn rad shots from it. We kept them out on the island a little while and then getting them back over was the fun part! They had to hop across rocks and risk almost falling in to get back to "shore". :)
The shoot ended with the two of them sitting in a flower pot, and doing squats in front of a house made for really, really short people. :) Yeah it was fun. Just take a look below.
