Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita

Well jeezums, its been like forever since I blogged. In an effort to get my other half (ah-hem) to blog more, I have been letting him do more of the posts lately. I looked back just now and he has done the last 5 or 6!! This just won't do. Joel isn't as chipper as I am with blog posts.... :)
Anyway, I digress. Sunday, it was our extreme pleasure to photograph Lily's last session for her "Year in the Life" of her first year. She just turned one on a few weeks ago, and her mom, dad and ourselves wracked our brains to come up with something fun to do for this last momentous session. Allison, Lily's mom, wanted some cute portraits of her in their living room, but we also wanted to do something to portray the milestone of turning one. So we went to the grocery store, played in the kitchen and ate some cake!
Joel grabbed this shot in the mirror in the hallway, just wait - Lily gets cuter and cuter!

We first read some books on the couch, and Lily just looooved showing me her animal books.

Then, Joel and her were playing catch with some decorative twig balls that were on the coffee table. (Hint: Lily was able to do a lot of things she normally doesn't get to do, just cause we were there! This was one of them.)

We did a few shots in the window, because mommy and daddy said she loves to stand on the ledge and look out...

Joel went outside and got some shots looking in...isn't she the cutest thing you have ever seen?

I love this one! Joel grabbed her making a funny face out the window, with the frame of the window going right over her mouth.

She was deciding which cake she would like to get, and just couldn't make up her mind.

Another fave, she is scootin' along on those twinkle toes just fine. It's such an amazing experience to witness a child grow over that first year - especially when you are removed from the situation (as in, it isn't your own child) and you only get to see them every few months. I feel like we have grown up with Lily this last year!

Really....any cuter???

Back home, Lily got her Princess apron on and joined in on cake making fun...

That tongue was priceless! She would do this and we would all just crack up.

And this "scroonchy" face as I like to call it. Joel had her busting up here. I wish I had a videocamera along for these shoots, Joel likes to make a fool of himself.

And now completely messy, Lily was tired of the cake and wanted to show us the animals on her bib.

We wanted to give a big thanks to Mike and Allison for trusting our crazy ideas over the last year. We look forward to seeing Lily when she's two!!!
(Oh, but that is an ENTIRE year away....so sad....)

Sweet, Another Year in Susquehanna Style Monday, February 25, 2008
Hey hey hey! Yes, we've been away for awhile. Yes, we are sorry, but there is a plus side. We are so backed up with things to blog that this will be a full week of blogging.
First, we are going to show you an article about a wedding we did this past June. This is our second year in a row to be published in Susquehanna Style. Last year they did an article on Alison & Brad, and this year it's Sandy & Geoff's turn. Pick up the mag and take a look. Their wedding section is beautifully put together, and we are honored to be included.

Whas-nacht day? It's Fasnacht Day! Tuesday, February 5, 2008
I know what you are saying. I can hear you. Why are the Wiebs posting about eating Donuts? Well, they are not just any donuts. These beautious lovelies are deep-fried loving we here in PA call Fasnachts (foss-nots). We even have a day dedicated to them Fasnacht Day! What in the world is Fasnacht Day!?!? Donut Day is a PA tradition. Actually, it's a Catholic tradition that many Protestant churches also celebrate. Traditionally it's a reason to get rid of all of the animal fat and sugar before Lent, and what better way then to heat it up and make Donuts. mmmMMMMMmmmmm, Seriously can there be a better reason for a holiday?
One last thing before I explain the pics. Every year on Fasnacht day I remember my Great Grandmother. Nana was a treasure in our family. Walking in Nana's door was like signing up for all you can eat goodies. She pretty much either had Christmas cookies, canned fruit or chocolate Easter eggs no matter what time time of year you stopped in. I remember sitting at Nana's house eating peanut butter easter eggs till my jaw hurt from all of the sugar. Well, I mention all of this, because Nana was buried on Fasnacht Day. I think of Nana all the time, but this is the one day I always think of her. She'd be happy that I am eating Donuts and smiling :)
OK, so I guess I got off on a tangent. The point of this post was to thank Brock Martin and Dave Warfel of Infinet Design. They are the reason we had donuts today. Just around lunchtime Brock and Dave stopped by the gallery bearing goodies. Did I mention the Wiebs like goodies? Well, they stopped at Central Market here in Lancaster and bought enough fasnachts to fill us all up. Thanks guys!
um...
Our other visitor today was zippy Zane. Zane and my Mom stopped by with a bowl full of homemade pretzels. Yeah, the Wiebs like goodies :) needless to say we didn't get to eat our REAL lunches today.
