Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
So I know it has been incredibly long since we blogged - yeah like over 3 weeks! This has been the longest we have neglected our wonderful little blog. Accept our apologies please! We were super-slammed in the 2-3 weeks before Christmas - filling client orders and getting weddings edited for our clients. We are currently on Christmas break - spending some much needed time with our kids, but we wanted to get some photos up here! Joel took the Wiebner pup to the park today and got some great shots, so I thought it would be a good thing to have up here until we get back to the office next week. (We still have a TON of portrait sessions to blog and a wedding or two, so stay tuned!)
Anyway, meet Angus. :) He is a bouncy, hyper, talkative little 11 month old puppy we rescued from the shelter back at the beginning of November. There was much debate over his name - his shelter name was Scamp, which none of us really liked. Then for like a day, I had wanted to call him Wiley. (Cause he looks a LOT like Wile E Coyote, ya know?) But Joel didn't like it, and since the puppy was for him for his birthday, he ultimately won out and finally got to name someone in the family Angus. (He had tried to do this with both of the boys and I vetoed it both times! Angus for a son, really? Couldn't have it!) So I am ok with Angus the puppy. It has stuck now and he is full of good energy. He is a terrier mix - the vet thinks a schnauzer mixed with some kind of terrier. But he is the cutest thing! We love him to pieces and he is the perfect dog for our family - he doesn't shed, and is even starting to get along with the cats. ;) His only fault - and it's a big one - he barks his head off!!! Like all of the time and at everything! He gets super excited at everything and just barks, barks barks. We are working on it though, and are hoping he outgrows some of it as he gets older.
So enjoy the photos of the newest Wiebner - I gotta go eat dinner, I'm starvin!
Christmas Orders and Holiday Office Closing Monday, December 8, 2008
Hi Everyone! We are still working on getting a lot of sessions blogged, as well as personal stuff. These last 2 weeks before Christmas are VERY hectic for us - we really appreciate your patience! I have a few announcements.
Deadline for order submission - DECEMBER 10TH
(We will be accepting orders for Christmas cards and prints up until this date - canvases, framing and albums can be ordered, but will not arrive in time for Christmas.)
Holiday Office Closing:
The office will be officially closed for the holidays from DECEMBER 20th through JANUARY 5TH. The last day to pick up orders for Christmas will be Friday, December 19th unless other arrangements with us have been made. We will be popping in and out of the office occasionally over the holidays for a few meetings, but for the most part, we will be spending time with family. If you email or call us during this time, please be patient as we probably will not be checking email and returning phone calls on a daily basis during the break.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
2 Parents, 2 Kids...and 4 Pomeranians? Friday, December 5, 2008
Woooeee! This was a fun one. Jen, Bob, Carson, Mason and the 4 poochies really kept us on our toes! What exciting shoots. Jen called and arranged for a family shoot, since it's been awhile since they have had some shots taken. She works with Becca - you know Becca, of the fabulous Brock and Becca that we photograph all the time! (We actually just did another shoot with them, they will be next up on the blog!) So Jen scheduled a session after talking with Becca about us. We actually ended up doing two shoots with these guys as we had some unforeseen circumstances arrive during the first shoot and were unable to finish it. For our first session, we met this family behind the Manheim High School, where there were some cool rocks, bridges and other fun stuff for boys and dogs to play on. :) We decided to try a different location for the 2nd one, something in Lancaster, and were going to go to the County Park in one of our usual spots, but on the way there, saw something more interesting and veered off course to the Buchmiller park which is across from County Park. The light and trees were pretty rad there, and we even found a patch of snow for them all to play in! Carson was a ham, and Mason, your typical teenager. :)
The poochies were super funny - 4 rescued pomeranians. Kudos to Jen and Bob for rescuing these precious pups!! I actually just found out from Becca today, that poor little Chewy, the little black pup, just had some major surgery! The poor guy had been a stud dog at a kennel before he came to live with these guys. Apparently the kennel owners didn't take very good care of him, and his mouth and jaw were a mess- the little guy needed surgery. That makes me so upset. I am so glad he has a good home now with this wonderful family! Thanks so much guys for the good times!
Here is Jen and the princess, Dolly.
Poor little Chewy. He is such a handsome guy.
I don't think Carson wanted a kiss from mom. :)
Ooh yeah, yummy light here we come...
And there's that snow we found!
I loved this tree. And if you guys know anything about me, you know I love dead trees. :)
Actually, Joel got this dead tree shot. See, it isn't only me.
We photographed Crisha's wedding last summer - she was our 7/7/07 bride :) and when she saw we were having a portrait sale, she thought it would be fun to get some photos taken with her mom. So I asked her what they like to do together and we kicked a couple of things around - she had originally wanted to go to a flea market or farmer's market, but there weren't any open on the day we were scheduled to do the session. Soooo, we went with the next best thing, which was walking around downtown Lititz looking in all of the shop windows! It was SUPER cold that day and we were all huddling together to try to stay warm. After their session was over, Joel and I couldn't feel our fingers anymore, so we went to the awesomely yummy - Cafe Chocolate in Lititz. They serve AHMAZING hot chocolate - we had ours with toasted marshmallow syrup in it! so, so good. They serve all organic natural food - it's the best!
I told you we were huddling....it was like the frickin Arctic out there!
Yeah we are big dorks, but I couldn't help it, these guys were too funny.
At the end of the shoot, we found a really awesome pile of leaves to play in...
Scarlett and Bella are Back - with Family! Tuesday, December 2, 2008
Ok, so AGAIN, I am a bad, bad blogger. All of these Christmas orders have had us crazy! We still have like a bazillion things to get up here, so I am trying my best this week to try and get somewhat caught up. I have a ton of portrait sessions to blog, and I feel like you all haven't seen the kids in forever! I promise to try and get some of them up this week too - oh and the new pupper!
So you probably remember the two little darlings from this session - Bella and Scarlett, from the session we did with them earlier this year. Their mom Kim decided to give her father in law a gift for his birthday of a family portrait session. So we headed up to the Mechanicsburg area to photograph the whole crew at their house. Everyone was decked out in great fall colors and we took some group shots and then enjoyed a champage (and grape juice for the kids!) toast at the end! How fun!
