Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Saturday we had the extreme pleasure of doing a spur-of-the-moment photo session for our graphic designer - we have photographed his family before, but Nate now wanted some casual shots of the kids around the house. So we headed over there Saturday afternoon for some play time.
Nate first bought us a totally awesome lunch, from Rob's Burritos - (located in York) - they were sooo yummy, and a great way to start out a session! We then went and played upstairs with Noah and Alyssa, or Issy, as she calls herself :) - Joel hung out with Noah and Nate in Noah's room, and I went with Alyssa and Rene (Nate's wife) in Alyssa's room. Joel played cars, I played dress up dolls - and then we all tumbled downstairs. Nate set up a big race car track in the living room, and we raced some cars, bounced on the sofa, and made some silly faces. These are of course our favorite kinds of shoots (who wouldn't want to play for an hour or two??), and we think we got some pretty sweet results. We hope you can tell how much fun we had!

Alyssa started out wanting to play with Noah's trains, and she was just sooo adorable I could hardly stand it!

This is one of my favorite shots of the day. Alyssa was sticking her tongue out at Joel, as Nate looks on and Rene peeks in through the door. :)

Alyssa had to take me for a pony ride in the hall. Another one of my faves...

Alyssa made the best faces (so did Noah, but Alyssa still has that baby cute going on) - anyway, when we would tell Alyssa "Don't smile!" she would make this super huge cheez-ola grin! It was so funny!

Noah pretending to take five...seconds later he was back up and runnin'!

Now the fun with the Santa hat.

These kids were just so expressive, they were a dream to work with! Noah kept making this face when he would take the hat off...

He looks like Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone.

Joel was the culprit with this one...he kept telling Alyssa to turn the volume up, and then Rene was like, "Nate she's pushing buttons!" and Joel giggled and said it was his fault - busted!

Total tippy toes, Alyssa could barely reach the drawer to get her chapstick.

Noah veggin at the end of the session on dad's computer. Thanks so much for a great shoot guys!

Out of the Stone Age - We take credit cards! Monday, December 17, 2007
No jokes please, but yes, we finally take credit cards here through the office! I have been razzed to death by my photographer friends, they couldn't believe we have taken this long to jump into the 21st century! Anyway, you can now use credit cards to pay for print orders, albums, packages, session, etc. etc. Thanks to all of our clients for being so patient with us dinosaurs!

It's Coming...Shhh...A Wiebner Workshop Thursday, December 13, 2007
Yes, we have been asked. We have been begged. It's time, finally. A Wiebner Workshop is coming...soon....very soon. If you want to get in on the scoop, send us an email.
A lot of people have been asking me the who, what, when, where, etc. I can't give you full details - but, if you want to learn about how we do what we do, this is the workshop for you. We will most likely be doing a shoot, which includes going over our lighting methods, as well as posing and finding that "shot" in sometimes undesirable locations. We will be discussing our entire post-process techniques, including hands on exercises (bring your laptop!). Some other things we will touch on - effective blogging, tag-team mentality when shooting, and how we capture some of those great candids of guests at receptions. This is just a tease, we have more planned, so if you want to advance your business, this is the workshop for you!

Teri and Shane - December 1st Thursday, December 13, 2007
Whoa, I am really late with getting this blog post up and I have to say sorry! to Teri and Shane. We have been sooooo swamped with all of these Christmas goodies our clients are ordering for friends and family. And we have lots of juicy new things in the works already for next year...but that is a different post so just stay tuned.
As for Teri and Shane, they had some of the best winter weather I have seen in years. It was sunny, almost warm, and just gorgeous all day. Beautiful blue skies, a wedding along the river, what could be better? They had a very intimate wedding at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Harrisburg, and then we walked down next to the river for some juicy light portrait time with the two of them. Teri looked just stunning in her elegant gown from Diva Ree's.
After play time, it was off to the Hotel Hershey for a short break in the afternoon, and the cocktails and the reception in the evening. The reception room looked beautiful as Teri had a snowflake winter theme that was executed brilliantly! A snowflake ice sculpture was eye candy in the room, and some of Teri and Shane's friends were professional swing dancers! The dance floor was hopping and the kids were running around. Music to our eyes...
Here's Shane talking to the videographer before the ceremony.

Teri couldn't figure out how to fit in the car in her dress. It took some maneuvering, but we finally got her in!

Hey gang, quick news note. We were just published in the new Knot that hits the newstands this month. You may remember Alison and Pat's luscious wedding we did back in May. Their wedding was featured as one of the Just Married articles and we couldn't be happier! Alison and Pat were such a great couple, we are thrilled to see their images published.
