Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!
Are you ready to advance your business? Education in our industry is important to us. The more photographers that are aware in the industry the better it is for everyone. Won't you join us in making our goals a reality? We participate in various workshops, seminars and speaking engagements. Listed below are various engagements - some are our own workshops, others we will be hosting or speaking at. If you wish to participate, please drop us a line or click the link to find out more info!
I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
That's right! October 3rd we photographed the REAL Mr. and Mrs. Smith! Jamie's maiden name was Smith, and Adam's last name is Smith! I joked with Jamie that at least she wouldn't have to go through the hassle of changing her name with her driver's license, social security, etc. You can't get more convenient than that! We made several jokes throughout the day, referencing the movie, Mr. & Mrs. Smith
This wedding at the beginning of October was a cold one - the ceremony was held outdoors at the Stone Mill Inn in all of the fall splendor. Jamie had some really great fall themed details, but one of the coolest things was that both Jamie's and Adam's fathers had classic cars there for us to play with. Jamie was actually driven in to the ceremony in her dad's, and it was a grand entrance! After the ceremony, we were doing some fun nighttime portraits with Jamie and Adam in the cars. You will see those below!
The reception was held inside the Inn, making it nice and cozy, and the mingling and dancing lasted all night. The food was delish, and everyone was excited over the candy buffet!
First up here, we met Jamie at the salon to grab a few shots...

An Intimate Event with Sara and Jeff Monday, October 27, 2008
September 27th we got so lucky! Lucky to work with Sara and Jeff. What an amazing couple. I want to give a huge shout out to our fellow Blue List Photographer, Anna Kuperberg, for referring this great wedding to us! Thanks Anna, you rock! :)
Jeff and Sara were married at the Shofuso Japanese Tea House in Philadelphia, a very amazing and unique location. We were really, really excited to get there and shoot, and after some quick getting ready at Sara's parent's house, we were able to play around at the Tea House. One of the rules of the Tea House that was kind of fun, was that you were required to remove your shoes before entering the house. Since we were running around in and out of the house, we were putting our shoes on and off for half of the day! Luckily we both wore slip on shoes. :)
The ceremony in itself was very intimate and with only about 45 guests, we were able to move about quite a bit. The ceremony was really quite beautiful - a relative of Jeff's sang Amazing Grace (which left everyone with sweaty eyes as Joel calls it) and the tea ceremony was really interesting. I really loved that we could move around so much during the ceremony, as we were able to capture some really different shots. Afterwards, we were racing time as it was an overcast day and we were nearing sunset. Spending some time with Sara and Jeff doing their portraits during this time was such a fun part of the day. We found some really great locations in the tea house, and used a lot of the architecture there for some great backdrops to their portraits. We then also went to a really rad bridge near Manayunk, and did a bunch of nighttime shots as well.
The reception at Salento was just perfect - Sara and Jeff wanted a really cozy intimate reception, so they chose this restaurant in Philadelphia. The food was unbelievable! With no formal reception festivities (other than a few toasts and an impromptu cake cutting), the evening was spent eating, drinking and being merry! What better way to spend the evening! Joel and I both really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere, and it made for some really fun moments during the day.
Thanks guys for being so wonderful! Enjoy the photos!

How would you like your Wiebners? Thursday, October 23, 2008
So I feel like it's been too long. It has been a crazy, insane, off-the-wall last couple of months. Blogging has been unfortunately taking a backseat to producing albums and editing weddings. I feel completely out of touch with all of you loyal blog followers. Things will change soon - I have a ton of great weddings, portrait sessions and personal stuff to get up. The kids have been in soccer this fall, and I have some super cute images of them playing soccer. Can't wait to share them with you!
We just completed our 2nd Wieblab Workshop for photographers - to say it went phenomenally is an understatement. We kept this workshop small on purpose; we wanted to spend more individual time with each attendee. We only had 4 participants this time around, but we all felt like a closeknit family by the end of the 3 days. The sharing, laughter, fun and bonding will not be forgotten soon. Here are just a few quotes from our new friends we made at the workshop that have already come in:
"I just wanted to thank you both so much for the past 3 days. The whole thing totally blew my expectations way outta the water!!
I was telling my wife last night that even beyond the photography and business side of the whole experience, I can't remember that last time that I was in such a positive environment. Really! It was one of the most positive and uplifting experiences of my life!
I can't thank you guys enough. Please, please, please keep me updated as to when the next workshop is going on.
I may become a Wieblab addict!"
"I just wanted you to know how much fun I had over the past few days. Your input, advice, antics, creativity and thoughtfulness was really what I
needed to give me a creative kick in the pants (in a good way).
I felt my work getting stale in the past few months and I needed that reminder that I just need to get out of my head more often and just shoot
with intuition and good stuff will come of it - - it always does.
Having been immersed in your work for the past few days, I also wanted to tell you how absolutely impressed I am at your approach to your business,
your client relationships and your images. It's so thoughtful and I really respect that when I see "creatives" who care so much about the industry, not
just their images.
I hope this was just the beginning of more time spent together."
Joel and I absolutely love sharing what we know with others. We were planning on not doing any workshops for next year, but the constant stream of emails, as well as the overwhelming response to the just completed workshop, has us second guessing ourselves. We are contemplating doing Wieblab #3, possibly in January or February of 2009. We really enjoyed the smaller class size, so we would limit attendees to 6 maximum.
So I need your help. If you are a photographer out there, and would be interested in learning from Joel and I, what would you be interested in? We are starting to do more one-on-one consultations, but are also open to having another workshop here in Lancaster, or even traveling to other cities if the demand is great enough. So I ask you, oh photographer friends, how would you like your Wiebners?
We had the pleasure of being photographed by our good friend and killer photographer from Las Vegas, John Michael Cooper. As a part of his Roadside Portraits Project we were photographed in Lancaster this past summer. The whole series is awesome, and we were so thrilled to be a part of the project. Well, as a bonus to this great experience we received a canvas print from Simply Canvas, a sponsor of John's and ours. We wanted to share this pic of the canvas hanging in our home, because this was a major event in our family's history. This is the first time we have ever been photographed as a family by another photographer. Yeah, we've set up a tripod and taken our our picture before, but that doesn't compare to what can be captured by a real artist. Thanks John and Dalisa! We miss you guys!

Models Needed Again - ASAP! Friday, October 17, 2008
Hi Everyone! Next week is our 2nd Wieblab Workshop of the year for photographers. We are still in need of one or two sets of models for our demonstration shoot. Joel and I will be shooting the models for demonstration of some of our shooting techniques - and then our workshop participants will also be photographing the models. Please send us an EMAIL if you are interested!
Full Details:
When - Tuesday, October 21st from about 1-6 PM
Where - Lancaster, PA at the Wiebners Studio
What do you need? We need at least one additional couple in wedding attire - so that means a bride willing to wear her dress and have us get funky with it. (No dresses will be "destroyed" during this shoot - so no worries!) and a groom in either a nice suit, or dress pants and nice shirt, etc.
We may also need a couple that would be in plain clothes, to act as an "engaged" couple.
Send us an email ASAP if you are interested! I will try to get back to everyone today, but we will be in and out a good bit - thanks!
