Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Even though we are insanely busy right now, we made some time to go up to NYC last week for the PhotoPlus Expo, and to hang out with some photographer friends. We didn't take too many photos, but I have a few here. We had a great time catching up, as we have felt anti-social the last few months being strapped to our desks and cameras! Thanks to everyone who I got to chat with, hug, and spend some time with - love you all!
Some of my favorite people, Eric and Brooke from Be Creative Photography, we caught up with them at a party at the amazingJason Groupp's. Both me and Eric are sporting new haircuts - Eric's makes him look like 6 years younger! We are both nearly 30 - him in a few weeks and me in a couple of months. Yikes!

Me and Jason Domingues - what a sweetie! We met for the first time back in AC at the Trash Bash in July, but this trip I finally got a chance to talk to him more. When I last saw him, he was sneaking a famous shovel to the airport...

Here a goat there a goat... Wednesday, October 24, 2007
Everywhere a goat goat! Nah, nah, nah! :) That's for Joel. Have you ever seen the Aflac commercials with the duck? One of those recent commercials has a goat trying to represent a knock off of an Aflac type place and the goat says, "Nah, nah, nah" and eats things. You had to see it to understand.
Anyway, Joel really likes goats - he wants to own some someday, along with a horse and some ducks and chickens! I swear we will need to have a farm when we retire. So I spurted all this out to tell you that we were at the farm the other week doing some fall stuff with the kids. It's Country Barn Farm Market and it's a farmtastic place! We go there every year with the kids. So I thought I would post some shots from our little afternoon excursion, before you thought we no longer had personal lives. September was wicked crazy, I don't even remember the month, that's how fast it went - but we DID get to do one or two things for ourselves that month. ;) And don't even get on my case about the vacation photos from August, it is just going to have to wait until this winter when it's cold and yucky outside - it will be nice to look at photos from California and the beach then, right?
Enough yakkin, check out the goats...
Haydn and Zane actually POSED for this shot and asked us to take their photo! Any other time I have to bribe them to take a shot like this, but they did it willingly this time, must have been the heat...

I loooved watching these goats, they were a source of entertainment for me and Joel for the afternoon while the kids ran around and played. Yeah, we don't need much to keep entertained.

The kids in the corn maize, which we didn't actually go through. Five seconds after I took this photo, Zane screamed he had to go to the bathroom, took off running, and that was the end of the corn maize. They forgot about it after the bathroom and went back to playing on the slide and the hay bales.

Ok, this wasn't the same day as the rest above, but I didn't want to have to put it in its own post. This was just about 2 weeks ago at Funk's in Millersville where we got our pumpkins this year. Zane made me take the photo! He said he wanted a picture taken in front of the pumpkins. Aspiring photographers? nah....

Corrie and Jamie - Engagement Wednesday, October 24, 2007
Sunday's 2nd engagement session was with another one of our couples for next year, Corrie and Jamie. They decided a trip to Gettysburg would be great for their engagement session - they have made several trips there and just really like the area. So after driving around for what seemed like forever to find a parking spot (Gettysburg on a Sunday is BUSY!) - we were able to run around town and get some fun shots. At the end of the session, we went into the cool movie theatre, and of course, one of our mottos - "Ask for forgiveness, not permission!" Well we ended up biting that and had to do both! We asked if we could shoot in their when we arrived, and the woman was very nice and told us to go ahead...but....it is a pretty historic place, and when we went into the theatre (not the movie theatre, the peformance theatre, this place had both!) - we wanted to go up on stage. We didn't see any steps to get up, so we just crawled up on stage - and - the shot was there, I had Jamie and Corrie all set up and was ready to click and then a "Excuse me! You can't be up there!" - Shucks! Caught in the act. We had to get down off the stage and got a stern warning from the woman that had let us in. Oh well, at least we tried!

Alli and Shaun - Engagement Monday, October 22, 2007
Sunday morning we woke up bright and early ready to go play with Alli and Shaun. We had a bit of an advantage when we showed up to photograph these two, as Alli has been a bridesmaid at two of our past weddings. She was still nervous, and her fiance Shaun was also - as he is a graphic designer and photographer. He wasn't used to being on the other side of the camera. That certainly didn't deter us and we soon had them at ease, and walked around Lancaster.
We played on the bleachers, climbed many steps, saw flying balloons, sat under dumptrucks (sort of), photographed garbage, and had Shaun performing acrobatics. We even found some inappropriate graffiti, but that shot is not bloggable! Alli and Shaun found all of this to be a great and hilarious time, and you just have to meet them to know that it all fit their personalities. Thank you both for being so totally you!
I know you guys will love these shots as much as we do - thanks for a great time!

Kristen and Shawn - October 20th Monday, October 22, 2007
What a windy day on Saturday! I swear I though Kristen was going to take flight with her veil, the way it was blowing completely vertical! She just laughed it off and we got some fun shots of her trying to tame it. That was just her attitude, fun and carefree all day.
We were psyched for this wedding, as we did Kristen's sister's wedding - last year (Shannon and Mike) - and will be doing her brother's wedding next year! Three siblings in 3 years - their poor parents! Just kidding, their entire family is so nice and we couldn't be more fortunate to work with such a great family. And a funnier thing is, Kristen's brother's name is Sean also! All day I heard different people calling Shawn and Sean by their first and last names because they wanted to make sure they were getting the right one, it was too funny....
And speaking of Shawn, he was so worried about the photos, as he said he is a terrible blinker and is NOT photogenic! Well I think you can see here, we managed to catch him a few times with his eyes open... :) He really wasn't that bad, and just goes to show that when you think about it and concentrate on it, it happens. But when you are sneaky like us and catch you off guard you just don't have to worry!
We had another spectacular day, thanks to everyone for letting us do our "thang"!
At the salon, I caught Kristen checking out her finished hair - lots of curls!

This shot though....is one of my favorites ever! I can't take credit, this one was all Joel, but I just love every aspect of it! It was a rowdy exchange when the guy that caught the garter put it back on the girl that caught the bouquet. The reactions of everyone were priceless, and the only thing that is hard to tell, is that he put her leg up on his shoulder to put the garter back on! And he was waiting to hear the cheers of everyone to put it higher, such an awesome shot!
