A Trip to the Museum
Monday, March 5, 2007 - PersonalLast Sunday (Yes, I know I am behind on blogging!) - we took the kids to visit the State Museum in Harrisburg. They had seen the movie, "Night at the Museum" back at Christmas time, and have had the "museum bug" ever since! We want to take them to the "real" museum from the movie, but don't have time right now to make a trip to New York, so we figured this was the next closest thing.
They had a fantastic time - it was a deserted place on a Sunday afternoon, and we had the museum almost to ourselves. Thank goodness, because Haydn and Zane thought they had to tear up the place! They kept running around oohing and aahing at everything. I am so glad they appreciate something like that - and the exhibits held their interest for most of the time we were there. There favorite exhibits were the dinosaurs (of course), the planets, and the animals. They also really loved walking through the replica Native American village.
And of course, before we left we had to visit the Museum gift shop and get some Astronaut ice cream (freeze dried)! YUMMY! This is one of the things I totally remember from going there as a kid. And sad as it is, I forgot to take a photo of it - we were too busy eating it!
