Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see an "I Like This" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!
Are you ready to advance your business? Education in our industry is important to us. The more photographers that are aware in the industry the better it is for everyone. Won't you join us in making our goals a reality? We participate in various workshops, seminars and speaking engagements. Listed below are various engagements - some are our own workshops, others we will be hosting or speaking at. If you wish to participate, please drop us a line or click the link to find out more info!
I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
I know we have been featuring a lot of animals lately on the blog - but they are just so darned cute! Don't worry, we have some human stuff coming soon. I am working on photos from Christmas and the DWF convention in Tampa that weattended at the beginning of January. Lots of fun to come!
In the meantime, I just had to blog about our friends Eric and Brooke, and their adorable new puppy! Her name is Maggie, and she is just adorable. They just got her this week and they have been nervous new parents - I have talked to them every day since they got her! Take a peak below at Shaggy Maggie!

Hangin' with some friends Wednesday, October 24, 2007
Even though we are insanely busy right now, we made some time to go up to NYC last week for the PhotoPlus Expo, and to hang out with some photographer friends. We didn't take too many photos, but I have a few here. We had a great time catching up, as we have felt anti-social the last few months being strapped to our desks and cameras! Thanks to everyone who I got to chat with, hug, and spend some time with - love you all!
Some of my favorite people, Eric and Brooke from Be Creative Photography, we caught up with them at a party at the amazingJason Groupp's. Both me and Eric are sporting new haircuts - Eric's makes him look like 6 years younger! We are both nearly 30 - him in a few weeks and me in a couple of months. Yikes!

Me and Jason Domingues - what a sweetie! We met for the first time back in AC at the Trash Bash in July, but this trip I finally got a chance to talk to him more. When I last saw him, he was sneaking a famous shovel to the airport...

The crowded gathering of photographers at Heartland Brewery on Thursday night! Sorry I don't have more photos gang, but we did more talking than anything, and I kept forgetting to pull out my point and shoot. Cant' wait to see you all again soon!

See ya Vegas! Heading Home! March 30th Tuesday, April 3, 2007
Well what a blast it was! An unforgettable week, making new friends, visiting old, and learning a few things along the way. It was a total whirlwind, with each day running into the next, and I wouldn't change a thing (except maybe missing that dinner with Sergio on Sunday night! Bummer!) - we are now totally inspired and pumped to start a new wedding season - ready to make some KILLER images for all of our awesome clients! So the last leg is here - off to the airport!
How do you get a shovel home from the desert anyway????
First image here is totally random, saw it as we were leaving the hotel - Joel and I have a strange appreciation for signs that are missing letters - here is one for ya...

So, oh yeah, the shovel? We debated about this darn thing from Wednesday until we left Friday morning. Should we ship it home, should we break it in half and shove it in the suitcase, should we take the head of it off and just take that in the suitcase - back and forth. Finally, after trying to break the sucker in half out in front of the hotel on Friday morning at 4 AM while waiting for the cab to take us to the airport - to no avail I might add - we FINALLY decided to try and check it as luggage. So we get to the airport, ask the nice lady at the counter - and sure, you can check it as baggage, but they aren't responsible for damage. So they sticker it all up with a thousand labels, well not that many but it seemed like it - and off it went down the conveyor belt, to hopefully be seen in Philadelphia coming out the other end....
and....
it....
made it!
WOOHOO!
We flew a shovel home from Vegas! John Michael Cooper is going to be so proud! This is for you John!

The shovel and an airplane - symbolism of it's journey. (Yes, we know we are dorks, please let us revel in it.)

And then off to pick up our children! Oh those 2 little boys! I missed them so much! And we get to Joel's mom's house after a way too long drive from the airport, to see this note on the front door....
And it made me cry....

And then this is what waited inside. (More tears...)
(Sorry for the crappy photo of them, but it was with the point and shoot, no flash, and I was crying, so give me a break.)

Vegas Baby! Day Five (The Anti-GTG at DoubleDown Saloon) - March 29th Tuesday, April 3, 2007
As if the Husband/Wife dinner wasn't enough, we braved the DoubleDown Saloon for the Anti-GTG hosted by John and Dalisa Cooper, and Doug and Chenin Boutwell. The 4 of them do a series of workshops entitled the, "Anti-Workshop" - and this was a little gtg for their past and future workshop attendees, and really anyone who wanted to hang out. So a bunch of us headed over there after dinner, and it was an eye opening experience....
The photos don't really do the place justice, we ended up not hanging out too long, since we had to get up at 3:30 AM to catch our flight home. But we got to say some goodbyes to new and old friends, and it was totally worth it!

Vegas Baby! Day Five (The Husband/Wife Team Dinner) - March 29th Monday, April 2, 2007
So we grabbed a bunch of photographer couples (both husband and wife are photographers) and got them all together for dinner on the last night of the convention at PF Chang's - and what fun did we have! There were 8 couples there, not everyone could make it that we had invited, since a lot were flying home that evening - we were ecstatic at the turnout we had, and some of our favorite people were there. Next year we will have to do something much bigger! We all laughed, ate and made merry - and it was a night to not be forgotten! Joel and I even got to stand up and give a little speech to everyone to thank them for coming - we really just love socializing with other couples that share the same passion as us. It was one of the best nights we had in Vegas - I can't wait until next year!
Oh no, not these two again! Eric and Brooke

We are glad, cause Brock is such a nice guys - and the Kaisers are a cool couple! Ok, those were my plugs for this post - off to more pix!

One shot to rule them all! This should almost have its own post - after dinner we got the crazy idea to take a group shot of everyone at dinner - what's so crazy about that you ask? Well Joel and I are infamous for our hold-out-the-arm pix (as we call them, otherwise known as self-portraits!) - so we wanted to see if it was possible to squeeze everyone in the photo, while Joel held the camera with his LONG arm and got everyone in! As you can see - we succeeded! 16 people in the shot, and you can see everyone!!! Go Joel, go Joel, go Joel! - Oh and this was done with a tiny Canon point and shoot!

If you want to know what us crazy people are up to with this shot - you are going to have to check out Nate and Jaclyn's blog. Nate had this crazy idea - what you can't do with a point and shoot and a $20 video light...
