Sarah & Piotr's Intimate Afternoon Wedding
It's not a common occurrence round here, but there are times when Rita or myself will get the chance to shoot a wedding alone. This was the case for Sarah and Piotr's wedding. Sssshhhh, don't tell Rita, because I had a great time. She'd be pretty bummed if she knew I could shoot sans spouse. (I hope) Anyway, I met Sarah and Piotr through Sarah's sister April
. Unlike my better half I'm not the best at remembering the fine details of the things that I do and experience, so I'm not going to write a long intro to this post. Instead, I'll comment along with each image to give you some insight about what I was thinking or what happened to spur the image, so scroll on...
How could I resist this duck smiling ear to ear. Sarah got ready in a bathroom adjacent to a room filled with stuffed birds. I think you can definitely get a sense for Sarah's mood even though Daffy took center stage for this shot.
Final prep and ready to go. This was taken just prior to Sarah and Piotr locking arms and walking down the aisle. That's Piotr in the distance making sure everything is in place.
This was the first moment the caught sight of each other that day.
Piotr, with a little spring in his step is looking down toward the ceremony spot just minutes before the wedding.
I loved this questioning glance while Piotr slips on Sarah's ring.
This just goes to show how much we love our couples. I selflessly plowed through tick infested tall grass and weeds to grab this shot of flowers. Oh and Sarah and Piotr were being lovey in the background too.
Remember I said that I was going to talk about my motivations and reasons for taking these? Yeah, I think this one goes without saying. mmMMMMmmm
I think I heard the crunch through the window after this shot.
Hands down this is my favorite part of the day. When I noticed that Sarah and Piotr were missing I immediately went looking for them and found them in the kitchen putting the finishing touches on creme brulee. I love the team work.
The cupcake wraps made for really fun princess tiaras.
A little catch before the end of the day, and no I didn't catch it in the kisser.
