Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Can you even believe we are actually, finally caught up with blogging???? How utterly insane is that? I never thought it would happen. We were so backlogged from last fall it took me all winter to catch up! I pledge an oath that I will be extremely diligent about blogging this season - as we are on the cusp of that season, it's starting right now! We have so much exciting stuff coming up this year I can't even stand it. We are having our one year anniversary of the studio (Grand Re-Opening!) on Friday, June 4th, and our 10 year anniversary for the business is in November! More details on those events to come, so keep an eye on the blog and on our Facebook Page for more info. Now...without further ado...heeeerre's Layla and Logan!
You probably remember Layla and Logan from multiple Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions, as well as the infamous horse session last fall, or even when we first photographed Layla, back before Logan was even an idea! These two are some of our regular little peeps, their mom Crystal just loves having their photos taken. We couldn't be happier! We love seeing our clients on a regular basis. This time around, we are celebrating Layla's 5th birthday and Logan ..well, Logan just getting older! He's getting to be an older baby, with lots of personality. :) Just a "see what we can find for fun" session at their house, we played in Layla and Logan's rooms, then enjoyed the warming weather outside on their farm. I love shooting at their house, they have so many great spots! Check out the trouble these two got into...
We started out with some appropriate St. Patrick's Day attire.

Logan likes to put stuff in his mouth, and grab his feet. What baby wouldn't?

Another fave I took of Layla - Joel says I have a dead tree "thing". If there is a dead tree to be found, I will find it, and use it to my advantage :)

And...after Logan spit up on his mommy 4 times during the session (Crystal needed to wear green for work and was running out of green shirts!) - he was down to a onesie on the red couch. He liked being almost naked. And, that he had spit up on his mommy 4 times :)

O Where, O Where, Have Teeny Weeny Wieb Portrait Sessions Gone? Monday, April 19, 2010
So how cute, are these cutie patooties?? Can I say cute again! Ok, before I get sickenly sweet like sugary frosting, let's talk about what's up with the Teeny Weeny sessions first...
So if you have been following us lately, you may have noticed we haven't been shooting our Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions on a monthly basis like we were last year. (If you have NO CLUE what a Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions is, check out this post from our First Teeny Weeny session to get the basic gist.)
Several reasons for that, but the main one is that these sessions are a super ton of work (and we have had a big increase in our workload with our lifestyle portrait sessions and weddings), so we have decided to do them only every 2-3 months. We will still be tying them into First Fridays and taking donations for charities, for the off months (when we don't have Teeny Weeny sessions), we will be showing off our personal work in the gallery for First Friday. Of course we are chock full of ideas for the Teeny Weeny sessions and are really excited to continue doing them. The next day of sessions will be on Wednesday, May 26th, and we will be emailing out the theme towards the end of next week after we get back from Texas. Also, we have some changes to how Teeny Weeny sessions will work, so pay attention to the email newsletter when you get it!
If you aren't on our email Newsletter list - what are you waiting for? Email us to get in the know! (Sorry photographers, we love you, but the email newsletter is for clients or other parties interested in using our photography services.)
Now, on to the sessions we did for Valentine's Day - we did a play on "Love Letters" as you can see. I think all of the kids got a kick out of the ideas, and we loved shooting them!
Layla was determined to find something in our mailbox, and when she didn't she put something in it!

Pierce and William really had a blast. William thought he could actually crawl in the mailbox - part of him fit at least!

Charlotte and Ava were SO diva in their Valentine's dresses their mom made for them.

Carson and Brandon were trying their best to keep these letters up high - I think they succeeded.

Pierce was a little shy and held on to that heart for dear life. He warmed up a little bit, and we got some fun shots for mom.

Ok, one of my all-time favorite Teeny Weeny images ever! :) Griffin is the brand new little bundle of one of our couples, Lori and Mike, and boy did he have fun in that mailbox!

Brynn was one of the happiest babies I have seen in a long time - she had a smile on from the moment she walked in the door to the second she left. She screamed and smiled and screamed and smiled... :)

A Lititz Family Portrait Session - April and the crew! Friday, April 9, 2010
We have photographed April's sister Jen's family several times over the last couple of years, and April finally decided it was her turn! Now that she had her second little guy, it was time for a visit from The Wiebners. I loved the fun, playful nature of this family, and they were totally into all of the ideas I had. We pretty much hung out on their big family bed, and in their patio room, where we had lots of hugs, kisses and laughs. We can't wait to see them again!

Surprise! Portrait session of Emmett for mom Friday, April 9, 2010
Emmett's grandma Nancy decided to give a surprise portrait session of Emmett to his mom for her birthday. Betsy, Emmett's mommy had seen our work and been into our studio and was dying to have a session. What a nice birthday surprise! We photographed the session at Emmett's house (Betsy is a textile designer and her house is beautiful!) Emmett was a little hesitant at first, especially around big gorilla Joel :) - but we are totally used to that, so I worked with him for the first part of the session. The great thing about being a husband and wife team, and going to every session together, is that the kids usually like at least one of us. If they like both of us, even better! It's such a great bonus though to have both a man and woman around. The babies usually like me more, and the older boys tend to warm up to Joel in no time at all. (Sometimes the girls too!) So with Emmett, we had a little bit of coaxing to do, but held in there and were able to get some fun stuff out of him. All you need is a little bit of patience, and you can make it happen. :)
Even though Nancy really loved this hat, Emmett didn't want to have anything to do with it!

Betsy had the coolest collection of books - they were all arranged on the bookcases according to color. I absolutely loved the idea.

Bailey & Baby Ford...Totally Balistic! Thursday, April 8, 2010
Hooray! One of our favorite couples ever had a baby! Ford was our first portrait session of 2010, and how excited were we to photograph him? SUPER EXCITED!! We couldn't wait to get to Ali and Brad's house to photograph their first little guy. Ford has a great room, done in one of our favorite colors - GREEN. He is so expressive already, and mom and dad just couldn't get enough of the photos we grabbed of him. Bailey, the super huggable Golden Retriever also wanted in on some shots, so we totally obliged. The shots we did of all of them on Ali and Brad's bed at the end of the session are some of our favorites! Just look at Ford! Also, they signed Ford up for a Year in the Life session, so you will be seeing a lot more of this little guy this year.
