Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!
Are you ready to advance your business? Education in our industry is important to us. The more photographers that are aware in the industry the better it is for everyone. Won't you join us in making our goals a reality? We participate in various workshops, seminars and speaking engagements. Listed below are various engagements - some are our own workshops, others we will be hosting or speaking at. If you wish to participate, please drop us a line or click the link to find out more info!
I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Yay! Carrie and Jeff had a baby! We have been working with Carrie's family for over 5 years now. We photographed both her and her older sister, Jessica's weddings, and their younger sister Grace's senior photos. We love working with families so much! Carrie had baby Lauren just a few short weeks ago. I went out one cold morning to her home when Lauren was about 2 weeks old, and worked some great family shots for the three of them. Lauren was a very cooperative little one, and I think she did such a good job! Take a look!

This is special for grandma and grandpa - this was Carrie's bassinet basket from when she was a baby! This was the one moment that Lauren was a little upset, I think crying shots are still important, because that's what babies do. Cry!

Alissa and Brian's New York City Wedding Saturday, November 7, 2009
October 10th we traveled to New York City for Alissa and Brian's wedding at Bridgewaters, in South Street Seaport. It was a beautiful area, and we were really excited to start taking photos. We met up with Alissa, Brian and the whole wedding party at the W Court hotel, where we all got into limos and town cars to go take some photos. We went over to DUMBO in Brooklyn, and found some great views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. It was a pretty popular spot that Saturday afternoon, cause we saw at least 8 other wedding parties having photos taken! There were brides everywhere! We decided to skirt around all of the hoopla (after we grabbed a few quick shots with the view), and walked some side alleys and streets to find something different from everyone else. I think we did a pretty good job of finding some cool spots for these two!
After we were finished with our trek in Brooklyn, we headed to Bridgewaters to start getting ready for the beautiful candlelit ceremony that these two had. The reception was held at Bridgewaters as well, and as it got dark, there was a perfect NYC skyline view out of the windows! Alissa's dad is known for his speeches, and he delivered a wonderful and memorable one for Alissa and Brian's reception. I love the shot Joel grabbed below of him next to the projector. Dancing was a huge highlight of the evening, and it didn't stop, even when we left! Thanks guys for having us up to the "big city" for your awesome day, we had a blast!

I love this look on Brian's face when he saw Alissa for the first time - isn't that just priceless? I almost didn't get there fast enough, almost, but not quite. I did manage to grab it!

This is the 2nd wedding we have had in recent months where we have had some really cool groomsmen socks. I love it!

I don't know why, but I really love this shot - I think it's cause of the bikerider just staring at Alissa like he has never seen a bride before. :)

This shot was caught at the right moment, Alissa was flinging her veil around to try and get it out of the way. Worked out just the way I wanted it to!

Ok, this shot is super cool, but totally freaks me out. Doesn't that girl look like she is a ghost or something? I think it's cause she is the only sharp thing in the photo, and then everything else is blurry or out of focus. I really like it, but its kind of eerie too.

Jen & Dave's Funky Pink Wedding Thursday, November 5, 2009
Funky pink! That's what we shall call this wedding we did on October 3rd. Jen had the BEST details! There was hot pink everywhere, and her jewelry was so different and, well, funky! I loved it - a bride who wasn't afraid to be different. The best part? She did all of it herself! All of the tables, decorations and flowers at the Yorktowne Hotel (including the bouquets too!) - she did herself. This girl's got talent! Dave said he didn't know she could do all of that stuff - well, there's always time to find out something new about the one you love.
This day went off without a hitch - the whole shebang was held at the Yorktowne, and the day got off to a wowzer of a start with a whole lot of champagne in the girls room! As we progressed in the day, Jen's details kept popping out everywhere, and the fact that these two have been together since high school was just too cute. They were fun and snuggly and were into doing a lot of portraits. We didn't have to go far to find some great spots right after the ceremony. In fact, we didn't go more than a block! There's so much to see if you just stop and take a look.
The reception was an all out, drag down, dancing like mad, wild kind of party! We'll let the photos tell the story, but this day was one fun wedding!

So I did a little xperimentin' and did a funky wedding party shot. Joel stitched it up all choppy like in PS, and the shot below was the result. You can also see this cool little animation, for a different view of the shot.

Christina and Ben's Windy Day in Cape May Monday, November 2, 2009
Woo...its been awhile since I blogged! We have been SO busy shooting so many different things! I literally have about 15 weddings and portrait sessions to blog. So, with that being said, let's get a roll on and see what happened with Ben and Christina in Cape May, NJ last month! October 2nd, we made the 3 hour drive down to one of our favorite places, Cape May. Christina is friends with one of our past grooms, Mahmood, and she loved our photos! That's how we ended up in Cape May for her wedding. She was so excited to have us there, and we were so happy to have the opportunity to work with her and Ben in one of our favorite places! The day was super de duper windy, and the ceremony was actually held outside in the Wildwood area. After the very windy outdoor ceremony, we headed down to the boardwalk to have some fun. With it being off season, it was nearly abandoned on the boardwalk and we were pretty much able to do what we want. Except for going to the amusement park on the pier - it was shut down, and we tried to sneak in, but promptly got shooed out by security. Drat! No matter, we still got some great shots!
The reception was held at the Hotel Alcott, a gorgeous hotel right in Cape May. Christina managed to dance the night away, even with a broken ankle! She injured herself over the summer, and was luckily out of crutches in time for the wedding. Even though she was still in a boot, she wasn't going to let it stop her from having the best day ever!
Christina had rented out a bed and breakfast for her family and her to get ready. It was a great Victorian house, and had lots of fantastic colors in it.

Christina's dad reminded me so much of my own dad. Here he is seeing her for the first time after she got dressed.

I loooove this portrait of Christina. I had fun in this room, and she told me when they first got that room that she had loved the pillows from the start!

I rode in the limo with the girls to the ceremony, and just as we arrived, Christina thought she caught a glimpse of Ben through the window. One of her maids of honor grabbed ahold of her and held on tight. Christina started tearing up!

We used this shut down hotel across from the ceremony location for a bunch of portraits. It had a lot of great bright colors. Reminds me of when we visited the Salton Sea in CA a few years back....
