Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
So we photographed Tanya, Jeremy, Ashton and Auden in this family session a few weeks back. I try to wear fun t shirts when I do kids sessions, cause it makes them laugh and is just fun! The day Joel and I did this session I was wearing my Super Mario t-shirt that I got in NYC last fall; it has ALL of the Mario characters on it. Ashton was very curious about it, and kept asking me who all of the characters were. His favorite thing to do was to point to Bowser on my shirt and say, "Hey, is that the bad guy?" It was quite comical. As Ashton warmed up to us, he soon abandoned the pointing at the t-shirt to run around and have fun with us. Great way to start the session though!
Tanya had seen our work from a friend, and was really excited to have us out to work with her cute little family. Auden was only a few weeks old, so she wanted some photos of him, and then some of the whole family. She had a large wall spot in her living room that she wanted a big wall canvas of the family. We even got their awesome little doggies in on the session for a few shots. After shooting awhile at the house, we went to a nearby park, walked down the train tracks and ended up at a small creek. Ashton was starting to get a little sleepy and even said he wanted to go home for a nap! :) We ended the session with some dandelion fun, which got a few last smiles out of him and Auden. I think it was a great way to end a session!

Downtown Lancaster Engagement - Megan & Harry from NJ! Monday, May 17, 2010
Megan and Harry are our first official First Friday booking for a wedding. They were in here at the studio last summer on a First Friday, loved our work, and booked us for their wedding! They enjoy taking lots of day trips to wineries, art galleries and so forth, so one of their excursions was to Lancaster last year. We love that it was so random how they found us. We can't wait to photograph their wedding next month at the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA. But first, a little about their engagement session...
Harry started out by saying he was up for anything! He wanted us to have free reign - he is a videographer, so he understands a bit about the creative process. :) The day they came from New Jersey for their session was gorgeous (although a thunderstorm was looming around and ended up dumping on us later in the day after their session). We started out in one of our favorite parking garages here in Lancaster, had way too much fun up on the roof, then went over to Musser Park. Megan really likes trees, and it is a theme for their wedding, so we got some spring tree color in a few shots for them.
Looking forward to this wedding next month at a new location for us!

Baby Session! Ford, the little golfer. Friday, May 14, 2010
Yay for Ford! He's getting so big already! For Ford's 2nd session in his Year in the Life, Ali and Brad wanted to get grandparents involved. So this time, we headed to Brad's parents' house in Harrisburg and played around there. They have a big house with 2 lovey Golden Retrievers (one is a sibling of Ali and Brad's dog, Bailey). When we got there, Ford was still napping, as you can see in the first photo below. I literally walked in the door and took that shot! He is sooo stinkin cute I can't even take it. I just love working with all of these babies! Ford was dressed in a stylin' little golf outfit, since daddy is a big golfer. We even ended the session with Ford watching golf on the big screen with daddy and grandpa! What a day!

We woke Ford up and he was as happy as could be. Not many babies are like that!

Baby & Family Portraits with Krista, Ross, Carson & now Kyra! Monday, May 3, 2010
Kyra has the CUTEST little piggy toes! I just wanted to eat that photo up when I saw it during the edit process. In fact, I wanted to eat every one of Kyra's photos up, because she is just soooo darn cute! We love working with our clients over and over again, and we have had the pleasure of working with Krista and Ross for the last couple of years. First with Baby Carson, and then again with the whole family at their beach house, last summer. Krista was pregnant with Kyra during last summer's beach shoot, and now, little Kyra is here! And oh my goodness is she ever cute! She has so many different expressions and I just bust up laughin' while I was looking through all of the photos. She is a tongue-sticker-outer, and I got a bunch with that funny little tongue darting out.
I love the color choices Krista used for their clothing for this session - light blues, yellows and greens - it was a very great springtime palette. We visited them at their home for Kyra's first session with us, which she is about 4 months old. That was how old Carson was when we first photographed him as well. Krista wanted to get it in as soon as she could, cause Kyra is starting to lose all of her pretty hair! Those babies and their hair loss, I swear they need to start a Hair Club for Tots or something. :)
So here's the shots - some inside, some outside, some upside down, some right side up...
I started out playing with Carson for a little while since he is in that fun stage of a 2 year old. They either love ya or are scared of ya at this age, so we started out easy. I always win over the little ones, I call it my mom charm :). Meanwhile, Joel normally scares them away. :) I call him a big ball of 6'6" scary. Just kidding honey! Well in this shot, Carson was liking Joel, in fact he's laughing at Joel being silly.

We did this same shot with Carson when he was a baby, and since Krista has the same changing pad for Kyra, she wanted a shot with her on it too. I think its so cute!

It's a Family Portrait Session at Lancaster Central Park Thursday, April 29, 2010
We photographed Christina and Brad's wedding last March, and for Mother's Day this year, she wanted to give her mom a family session. So they all drove up from the Philly area, and we had lovely weather for their session! We frolicked through the park (except for when Joel took everyone through a big patch of burn hazel - ouch! we didn't frolick at that point). :) As I was saying, we frolicked through the park, and laughed and enjoyed the springtime. We even played Ring around the Rosie!
