Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Well, now that we REALLY have the Christmas orders wrapped up and we are just waiting for them to come in, things are starting to get back to normal here for a bit before Christmas. Lots of blogging to catch up on! I have 30 sessions to blog over the next few weeks. Eek! That's a lot of writing to do. Anyway, our first family portrait session here was way back at the end of October when all of the craziness began! I am not really sure what happened to November, other than the fact that its gone and I don't remember much of it. Fall portrait season was crazy!
We photographed Stacey and Mike's wedding back in 2007, and we were so excited to hear they have a new little addition, Graydon! Graydon is a serious little guy, who had fun with us downtown here in Lancaster. We went for a walk and found some fun places to hang out at. Take a look at what trouble Graydon managed to find...
Better late than never, but October's Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions are finally on the blog! I have to say this has been probably my favorite Teeny Weeny session so far - I just love our set, and what's better than kids in their comfy jammies? Our favorite photos from the sessions (shown below) were hung in our gallery/studio here in Lancaster for November's First Friday (November 6th). Our charity for that night (which was suggested by one of our awesome TWW moms, thanks Carrie!) was Project Linus - we raised nearly $400 for this organization! And the winner of our voting was our first image below - Grant! His lucky parents will get to keep the fine art print that is hanging in our studio.
In case you don't know what Teeny Weeny Wiebs are: Each month we will pick one day to do "mini shoots" that are themed. The shoots will last only 15 minutes each and only cost $25 for the session! Joel and I will be coming up with fun new ideas for the themes each month. Some of the sessions will be for kids, some for pets, some for adults - some for all ages! Yes, we are doing this each and every month! As an added twist to our Teeny Weeny sessions - we will be picking our favorite image from each session and displaying them in our gallery on First Friday each month. We will be using the photos to help raise money for a different charity each month. Here's the deal: Come in on First Friday and vote for your favorite Teeny Weeny image. You can vote by placing a monetary donation in a bucket under your favorite print. All of the money we collect in the buckets will go to charity, and the image that collects the most money wins! The client will receive the print for free that collects the most donations.
If you are interested in future Teeny Weeny Wiebs session - please send us an EMAIL to get more info! The spots go quick! We photographed Christmas Teeny Weeny sessions in November, but will not be doing Teeny Weeny sessions in December - we are taking the month off! No worries, they will be back for January. January 27th we will be doing a Valentine's Day theme, so sign up now!
Here's Grant's winning photo, doesn't he look like he is up to trouble?

Studio Closed. November 21st - December 1st Friday, November 20, 2009
So I know. You don't have to ask. Ok, ask it, "Where the heck have The Wiebners been and why haven't they blogged anything in like 50 years?" We have had such a huge response to our $99 portrait sale, that we have been the busiest we have ever been! Every day for the past 3+ weeks have been filled with shooting, editing, meetings, editing, shooting, editing and sending orders. Did I mention shooting and editing? We have tried to get emails in here and there, but have been a little behind on that too, so if you waited extra long to get a response from us we are super sorry!
So all of that being said, you are going to have to wait a little longer to see some new photos on the blog. The studio will be closed from November 21st through December 1st for a much needed holiday break. If you email or call us during that time we will not respond until December 2nd. We are excited for the break to refresh and recharge, but are also excited to get back into the studio and blog about all of the 30+ portrait sessions we have photographed in the last several weeks! We have worked with some really great families and kids!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving and we'll be back blogging soon!

Christmas Teeny Weeny sessions - sign up quick! Friday, November 13, 2009
It's here! Christmas time is fast approaching, and our Teeny Weeny Wiebs for November will be Christmas themed! Think twinkling lights, present boxes to play in, maybe a Christmas tree, and lots of Christmas music filling the studio. We love Christmas! Come get your little ones photographed during our 15 minutes mini sessions and get some fabulous photos to give as gifts for Christmas. Send us an EMAIL or give us a call to sign up!
We made our first announcement for these sessions in our newsletter & Facebook Fan Page yesterday and sold out November 18th in just a few hours! Today I opened up the afternoon of November 20th and sold that out too! We have decided to open an unprecedented 3rd day of these Christmas sessions on November 30th. This will be the last day we will have for these, so get them while you can.
If you aren't familiar with our Teeny Weeny Sessions, here's how it works:
The sessions are 15 minute sessions - "mini" sessions. We hold them one day each month, and each month we have a different theme for the shoot. The fee for the Teeny Weeny sessions is $25/session - all photographs from the session will be centered around the theme of the month. We typically proof between 10 and 15 images from each individual session.
As an added feature - each First Friday we do a "gallery show" of the Teeny Weeny sessions from that month. We print one fine art print from each session, and hang it for display in our gallery/studio. If you come out on First Friday, you also can vote for your favorite Teeny Weeny image - by placing a monetary donation in a can under your favorite print. The print that receives the most donations wins! The family will get to keep that print ($150 value). Also, all of the money that is collected will go to a local charity.
After the First Friday "unveiling" of our favorite images, we also schedule a time for you to come in to the studio and view the remainder of the images from your session. You can order any prints or products you would like to at your viewing session.
A Delaware Wedding with Kim and Jason Thursday, November 12, 2009
Kim and Jason were married October 24th at the gorgeous Greenville Country Club near Wilmington, DE. Even though it was a little rainy, ok a lot rainy, it didn't stop us from capturing some gorgeous images for Kim and Jason. They were so cute together as we dragged them out with umbrellas in the pouring rain. All we needed was for them to be into each other, and they certainly were! These two have been together since high school - I think it's been like 13 years if I remember correctly. Talk about a long courtship! :) Joking aside, everyone had a blast at this wedding - the kids, the grownups, the vendors - everyone!
Getting ready was a little creepy - we had a whole wall of black and white men's portraits staring at us (see below!) and stinkbugs dive bombing us as they flew around the room. It was totally freaking us all out! The rain stopped long enough for us to take the girls out for a few portraits, and then the guys as well. The ceremony was intimately held inside in an enclosed patio area - Father McGee was pretty funny during the ceremony! Everyone kept cracking up, and it was all light and humorous. And flower girls! Kim had 5 flower girls come marching down the aisle throwing petals everywhere. They were all nieces of her and Jason.
I am so glad that we took these guys out in the rain after the ceremony. We found a cool little nook that was covered from the rain, and were able to get a bunch of portraits done. Kim and Jason had an awesome umbrella they had brought along that was from MOMA (Museum of Modern Art in NYC) - and was a great prop to use in the shots. I love the image I caught of them in the doorway below.
The reception was full of drinks, dessert (um creme brulee anyone??) and dirty dancing. :) There are some fun shots of that below. Thanks guys for giving us so much great stuff to work with!
