Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!
Are you ready to advance your business? Education in our industry is important to us. The more photographers that are aware in the industry the better it is for everyone. I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
We photographed Mandy and Greg's engagement session REALLY early on a Sunday morning so that it wasn't too hot and the light would be nice. There isn't a better time to be on a farm than early in the morning. This farm is extra special, because it is Greg's family's farm and has been in the family for over 5 generations. I love it when we get to photograph at locations that are really meaningful to our couples. It adds that something extra special to the session. And there were oh so many places to play on this farm! The cornfield, the school buses (Greg's family owns several!), the fields, the barn - and we can't forget the shiny red tractor! Greg worked painstakingly on this beauty - completely stripping it down and restoring it. It is really beautiful! So we did a bunch of shots using that. Also, Bandit, Greg's dog had to get in on some shots, he was such a good puppy!
After we had our run around the farm, we also traveled down the road a bit to some other property that Greg's parents own, which is super special to Mandy and Greg. The tree in our 2nd to last shot is where Greg proposed to Mandy. Its a pretty cool little spot. We had so much fun working with these two and can't wait for their wedding in December!

Hot Day & a Hot Couple - Kristen & Doug Thursday, July 29, 2010
We have had so much fun with Kristen and Doug over the last year or so. These two were one of the first weddings we had booked for this year. You may remember the fun we had last fall at Nissley Winery for their engagement session. They sure know how to laugh...
June 19th was no different for their wedding day, there were just a few more tears mixed in. :) A church ceremony was performed followed by a trip to the Reading Museum for fun photos of the couple and wedding party. We tromped all over the grounds of the museum, trying to avoid the 3 or 4 other wedding parties that were there. Luckily, we like to be off the beaten path anyway, so it was fairly easy to avoid everyone else who was gathering around the "popular" spots. Right before Kristen & Doug were ready to get back on the limo bus, we spied the ice cream truck just sitting in the parking lot. We didn't know if he was there for another wedding party, or if he was just hanging out. Turns out he was just hanging out, so we got some photos of Kristen and Doug enjoying some yummy ice cream on their hot, hot day! We only posted one photo from it, but we got some great series of shots from the ice cream truck. :)
Off to the reception at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel - complete with rowdy partying, a photo booth, some wine spilling accidents (ahem), and a very dangerous garter toss, that ended up with several guys scrambling on the floor. Way too much fun! There was also talks of doing shots out of guests shoes, but it didn't end up happening before we left for the evening. What a day!

Kristen was just gorgeous! I loved, loved her dress.

Yeah, a little Captain Morgan to start the day. :) The playground at the church had this huge wooden pirate ship, so we decided to have a little fun with Doug. :)

I love this shot - these kids were so cute, and I loved how they were all huddled around the moms trying to see whatever photo they had gotten on their camera.

This one cracks me up too. Yeah, we have a weird sense of humor.
Joel just thought this was the funniest thing to happen all night. Doug was in this serious conversation with their pastor - he's the one on the right - when his two buddies came up and just started dancing all over him. Joel said it was super funny and super awkward all at the same time. :)
Hands down, Molly and Adam's wedding on June 12th had some of the best details we have seen at a wedding in awhile. The entire day (except for getting ready) was held at Burnside Plantation in Bethlehem, PA. Gorgeous place! So much character. Molly and Adam just oozed love and good old fashioned charm. They are such a sweet couple! And Molly sure was something, she just cried at the drop of a hat! :) Well not really, but she was very emotional during the ceremony, and she had a right to be. It was one of the nicest ceremonies; they had two of their close friends conducting the ceremony (with just the local JP doing the actual marrying part) - and it was really something. You will see a lot of photos of it below.
Another super rad thing about the ceremony, was the actual "staging" area of the ceremony. Adam and his dad built it from scratch! It is so totally cool, and you can tell they put a ton of hard work into it. I think I recall that they said they were there for nearly 12 hours assembling it 2 days before the wedding. (Adam and Molly live in Massachusetts, so they had to bring it down to PA in pieces.) What dedication and talent! Photo of that is below too. As for all of the other details, there are just so many to mention here, you will have to look below. We had too many photos for the blog post, so we made up some detail collages below.
I really could ramble on about this wedding, but I would be writing all day, so I'll post some good snippets throughout the photos below!

Adam, showing off his brown and pink. Pink tie, boutonniere, handkerchief AND socks. It takes a real man to wear that much pink! I think Adam has it! :)

Molly's beautiful bouquet, the table decorations (Which were all antique and vintage tins filled with flowers - Molly said they spent endless weekends scouring flea markets and antique stores for them!), the fabric banners on the wood fences (all sewn by hand by Adam's mom!) and an interior shot of the tent where the reception was held.

Kathryn & Ryan at Casa di Fiori in Leola Friday, July 16, 2010
Kathryn & Ryan's wedding was a hot one back on June 11th. Everything on their day was held at the fairly new wedding facility at Leola Inn, Casa di Fiori. Even though it was pretty steamy, we managed to get everyone outside for a bunch of portraits after the ceremony. Behind the hotel rooms, and restaurant(Mazzi) at Leola Village, there is a great little pathway lined with trees, bushes, and even the garden for the restaurant. We used them all to the fullest extent! Kathryn and Ryan were so fun and went along with whatever we thought up. They had a fairly small wedding party as well, and all of them just followed along and goofed around with us. It was a great day! Kathryn even got us permission to go into the wine room at Mazzi - that was pretty cool! Lots of great photos below!

Brayden & Gaven all in BW! Wednesday, July 14, 2010
So let me start out by saying we have been trying to do this session since last November! We (and Helen, Brayden & Gaven's mom) rescheduled several times due to weather, illnesses, etc. Then we finally decided to wait until the weather was nicer, so here we are. Helen wanted this session in all black and white, and while we haven't done all BW for a session before, it was kind of fun! We played with the kids outside in their yard - on their playset, etc. - we went for more high contrast backgrounds with this shoot when we possibly could. I think we got some great shots and were able to experiment all at the same time. Check out what Brayden and Gaven were up to...
